Was there, just in front of Ed. It hurts to admit it for a Radiohead hardcore fan, but that was litteraly the best live moment of my entire life. The entire room melted in 2 seconds. And that's very funny because i think that nowadays, the audience in RH concerts are long time fans who rarely consider Creep like one of the band's best tune. But still, when they play it after a 7 years break, everyone is 17 again. It's magical. What a band.

I’m also a hardcore Radiohead fan and I wouldn’t consider creep one of their best songs either but I think it’s cruel to say creep is a bad song just because of the bands opinion on it. There is ALOT of history behind this specific performance of Creep in Paris: The band hated playing Creep, because they felt like it limited their creativity and what people accepted them for. So for years, they just refused to perform Creep live. Two days before this very performance, Radiohead was playing in Amsterdam, and some random kid was yelling "Creep!" in the crowd. Normally ignored, in this case, the guitarist started playing a few chords of the infamous song, rousing up the audience. More importantly, it lit a fire in the lead singer, who hated the song the most (because it was about him). So imagine if you will, years of Radiohead fans just understanding that when you attend a Radiohead concert, you won't hear Creep played. However on this night, one seemingly no different than others, something just clicked, and they decided to finally embrace this legend of a song again. THIS is part of why the audience was so damn receptive to it being played. Not necessarily because they're just such big fans, but because they're part of a special moment and they KNEW IT.

I just don't understand how they willingly got themselves in this position where it's so awkward to play it. It's not their finest moment by their standards, I get it. But they haven't played it nearly enough to hate it SO much. Like, for example a Mark Knopfler may be entitled to hate Sultans of Swing or Money for Nothing. They could have opted to just play it occasionally. But by expressing how much they hate it, and ridiculing people who like it, they brought this on themselves. I just don't get it.

Dante Eleuterio First of all, if you can't tell Thom looks pained to even be doing the song. Second of all, you can't hear him singing because the crowd is singing over him, you know, not trying to listen to him at all. It got so bad that he couldn't even hear himself in his in ear monitors anymore, which is why they had to stop the song. Also, Thom hates this song, seeing as why he hasn't played it in 20 years. There's a bold line between singing along while a performer is doing a song and then completely ruining it by screaming it without a care, not caring if you block out the musician's singing.

I was there and being french and parisian, i can say one thing: THE CROWD WAS TERRIBLE Come on, no one danced like hell on Idiotheque. Girls where shouting crazy on very intense and deep quiet moments, even sometime loudly insulting each other (in the crowd). That is so disrespectfull, and even Thom Yorke noticed that. Still, the show was incredible

That's why I stopped going to concerts, I just can't stand those screaming bitches and I always get unlucky to end up standing next to a teenage girl group...
@vesper1808 жыл бұрын
Yeah, the shows always are. I've "attended" many Radiohead "concerts" here on KZfaq! xD Sadly, have still not had the chance to see them live :"( I'm sure over all these years, they've had some unpleasant experiences onstage/audiences, that weren't great but, yes they give great shows no matter what happens. I saw a show they played in South America somewhere and some a$$hole threw a shoe and hit Thom in the face! It looked like it might've hurt, too. But, damnit, he kept right on playing and didn't miss a note! Thom and the whole band are Amazing!! (Also, I hope someone punched that guy who threw it!)

This is truly one of my very favorite songs. SO genuine, so raw, humble, beautiful. Brilliant.

This song brings me to tears, no matter how many times I listen to it. It is so sexy how he makes himself so vulnerably real....and connects all of us, to this genuine soul expression of human existence. He is more beautiful than any eye can witness, sharing the pain in his soul, and the beauty he is unaware that he possesses. Wow. What a man!!!! Yum. ;)

That was magical. He looked like he was having so much fun with it and the crowd loved it. I think it’s so great when a band encourages their audience to join in. THATS A FUCKING CONCERT. If you want pure go get a studio version🙏🙏

The best live song ever recorded. It is my personal favorite. I love to watch Thom Yorke expressing himself on the stage. It is so pure and humane. I can't just express it.

I’ve never seen that guy smile on stage , especially on this song that the band was tired of playing since 25 years ( in 2016 ) , a quarter of a century ! ....Paris is special .

@User-xw6kd7 жыл бұрын
Hope'sNeverGone It's not boring, as a hit, I can understand why people love it, they can relate to it, it's like an anthem for the socially anxious and weird people but the truth is Radiohead's discography blows this song out of the water. Even a song such as Weird Fishes, amazing song, much better than this one.
