The second half is what elevates this album so hard. First half is full of very interesting and unique music with drum loops and experimental catchiness. But the last 4 tracks are what makes it so memorable. Putting lotus flower, codex, give up the ghost AND separator all in a row had to have been intentional. They knew we would be levitating lol.

I've always had a soft spot for this record, its not as immediate or affecting as their other projects but its got a meditative-ness that just makes it such a pleasant listen, perfect study music

The "From the Basement" session of this album is pretty incredible and gave me such a better appreciation of the record. Highly recommend!

Second half of this album is up there with their best, first part is like them showing you some of their workings, finding a new path which leads onto the next album. Moon Shaped Pool is a great listen. I'd argue that it's worth listening to the Smile afterwards. Radiohead will be back though, they are talking about it. Can't wait!

I know this the least favorite album for a lot of people but to me personally I discovered Radiohead with this album and I completely loved it, made me feel so much energy with the percussions and also this album helped me to get through a hard situation of my life, this is my favorite album.

there's a particular b-side that unfortunately didn't make on to the album, titled "daily mail". and it is by far one of the greatest songs they've ever written, i highly recommended checking it out in your own time, you will love it!!

Any Radiohead is awesome. The King of Limbs is underrated. Fan expectations extra high after In Rainbows. Felt really short as well. It’s a very good project. And, of course, give Sigur Ros a try!!! 😀 They could really fill the void you’ll feel after finishing Radiohead’s current discography. “Ágætis Byrjun” is your entry point. And they’ve made 6 great albums since. (Newest released a month ago.)

Biggest problem with TKOL is that the studio version kinds lives in the shadow of the live, from the basement version.

TKOL itself had limbs. They were released separately, often in pairs. The Butcher, Supercollider, Twisted Words, Harry Patch, Staircase and Daily Mail were made in the same sessions. I always thought this album got a bad rap. It's not an elite release but it is still strong.

Not my favourite Radiohead, but probably the one I listen to the most because it's short, blissful and mediative. The perfect RH record for a walk in the English countryside.

I am literally crying watching you hear this for the first time. You have such satisfying reactions to Radiohead and I cant get enough!

As someone who's enjoyed reaction videos for 3 or 4 years, and for whom RH is my favorite band, its always a treat when they pop up. As we arrive at "Moon Shaped Pool" I think it ought to be said, I've enjoyed your reactions more than anyone else. Always so very much worth the wait. Not to be too melancholic, as there are the 100 B-Sides, live performances (the 2 Basement sessions of course), the almost mythic partial songs only 1 or 2 people have and post in weird places - so this isn't a time to be sad. YES - I do believe there is an LP10 awaiting us, though perhaps that will be the last. Also, I agree with the nearly Universal sentiment the TKOL "From the Basement" is superior to the album though I always enjoyed this album. I don't know if/how with as much music you react to you might consider, but this project is incomplete without listening to the single "The Daily Mail/Staircase" released nearly at the same time as the album - those 2 songs are truly special special individual tracks in the RH lore. One of the best parts about the Basement session for this one is how incredible it is to see them recreate these looping rhythms and very percussive and sampled vibe that so much defines the album - they added a 2nd drummer for that performance and the tour (Clive Demler from Portishead - 90's indie rock royalty - one of the coolest bands ever, the Trip Hop pioneers who's album "Dummy" from 1994 you really ought to experience, it is a master work). But just as you'll see (or maybe have if you have been unable to resist) on "In Rainbows: From the Basement" and "The King of Limbs: From the Basement" is just how unbelievable and so fun it is to watch 5 guys who met in High School in the 80's and managed to stay as one unit through 9 albums and 35 years and remain as such. Amongst the highest heights of bands (where we can all agree RH belongs forever) and even the next tier of amazing bands, that is such a rare unique aspect of their story, and it oozes through as part of the one-of-a-kind soundscapes and world's they create for us to drift off to or sing our asses off or struggle to learn on guitar and then realize once you've learned it, now you have to try to sing like Thom dammit! But man, my friend, you have presented these albums and your reactions and your enthusiasm, genuine smile as you get lost in a new favorite, and shared adventure in such a way it has been a genuine treat, the very best Radiohead reactor IMO; just a delight to know in a month or 2 - like tonight - as I wrap up my evening, I will get a surprise like this, and relive my own memory of driving home from work through the mountains hearing this Compact Disc as we called them in 2011, for the first time (having heard Thom's solo acoustic version of "Lotus Flower for a few months - shocker, it sounds a bit different and is AWESOME) and be so enlivened by the personality you bring to what you do. Well done once again, fantastic, and it's so cool you rolled with TKOL and 'got' it - I saw Thom and Jonny live last month near Washington D.C. touring their side band "The Smile" - keep an eye out as you may be able to see them - and they are the #1 and #2 of this band so it is as it should be - different. And while it does NOT replace seeing RH live as they give back songs for 150 minutes that span 30 years like when I saw them in 2016 twice for the 9th record. But based on articles and the fun they were having that night as "The Smile" and the incredible music both of them - true geniuses of our time for modern music, together - will continue to create, I mean Jonny has 2 Oscar nominations in the bag for orchestral film scores and Thom is - I think of Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Robert Johnson, Neil Young...I've got no qualms placing him at their stature as a force of nature musically in my Gen X lifetime with no equal and deserving to be alongside those names, period. So they just have so much to give and compared to seeing Mick Jagger on some combination of crack/adderall/gasoline/ and Nitrous (props to him not a criticism) dancing around like a college kid when he was in his 70s, RH doing an album in their mid 50's is not a crazy concept. However, they will go out with grace, when it is the right time. But I have full faith the 10th album is something we will now all wait for together. In the interim, you'll have so much - from Thom's solo work to acoustic performances from 2003 with Jonny, to the nearly 15 quality B-Sides off "The Bends" alone (hell, the B-Side Record for "OK Computer" was nominated for the Grammy for 'Best Alternative Album' of 1999 - who does that? What band pulls off something as ludicrous as that - and by the way, it deserved it as it was like an awesome sequel to "OK Computer" when it came out...had it on cassette tape, yup...and then..."Kid A" and my struggles and return with In Rainbows and then giving in completely; a lifetime devotion to all of it -- the special journey, right), the music video's - some of which are more artistic and better fleshed out than most films you'd see today, and much more...to look forward to. Whatever you are willing to share with us as far of any of that goes , please do! As things move along, you'll have a lot of fans like me happy to join in. nice!! this is without a doubt my favorite radiohead LP, it's like they're showing that they know how to access the spiritual side of their music and with the aid of new things Thom learned with his solo and side projects (mostly atoms for peace) they're able to creat this sound that is so hypnotic but at the same time so warm, and with so many natural soundscapes...its also worth to mention that the sctructure of the album reminds me of a DMT experience, with this shamanic and feral begining with such a release at the end btw, i think this kind of sound is the one that most resembles Yorke's and Greenwood actual project called "The Smile", you should check it out after A Moon Shaped Pool

I really like Bloom as an intro and Separator as an outro. Bloom starts the album with "open your mouth wide", like inviting you in. And Separator says goodbye with "wake me up", like if the album was a dream. And at the same time, it says "if you think this is over, then you're wrong"; you have to remember that this was the last Radiohead album for some years; and it gave you the sense that it could actually be the end of the band, but at the same time, they will trascend, or that there would be more of what Radiohead transmits in life. BTW, I really recommend the band Godspeed You! Black Emperor, which i knew thanks to a remarkable sequence of the film 28 Days Later. It's pure atmosphere and feeling. You can imagine the apocalypse with most of its pieces, and feel the payne and destruction in the world, but also the hope and beauty of life.

Fantastic album and an absolute all timer, full of great melodies and well written lyrics and I recommend you give it a listen I promise you will love it

As youve listened to In Rainbows disc 2 you need to listen to OKNOTOK the 2nd CD from OK Computer has some great songs on it like Pearly and Palo Alto... Palo Alto being one of my fav Radiohead guitar tracks...

In terms of 'new' Radiohead, not sure. But The Smile, though not technically Radiohead the band, is definitely still worth checking out - came out recently. Tom Skinner definitely adds a different flavour, which is interesting

This album wasn’t really something that I was hooked on the first few times I heard it but as time went on it just hooked me more and more. The king of limbs is definitely a grower and I know that a lot of radiohead fans don’t really have this record high up on their lists but I think this is one of their best albums that they’ve ever put out (my opinion only)

Codex is without a doubt my favorite song. You have to watch King of Limbs from The Basement - full brass section - an additional drummer - it's glorious.

I love this album. Please, please, PLEASE listen to the "from the basement" session of King of Limbs (In Rainbows also!) it'll blow your mind to see them playing all these live, also, there are extra tracks like "the Daily Mail" that have you scratch your head as to why it's not on any album. The piano chord progression, the drop.. Man.. Seriously, people who didn't "get" King of Limbs at first, got it after watching and listening to "from the basement". It needs a separate reaction! When this album was released, hardcore fans were certain that this was only part 1 and there was more to come. The album was short and ended with the lyric "If you think this is over, then you're wrong" which caused much speculation.

I remember avoiding this album for the longest time because I'd heard such mixed things, and then I finally put Lotus Flower on and it was like being punched in the face. Such an insane groove.

I hate to say this but I don't think we will see another new Radiohead album. This package of music from Pablo Honey to Moon Shaped Pool is an incredible legacy to have and I could not think of a better swan song than this last album. From what I have read and if you read the tea leaves of what everyone in the band is now doing it looks very much they have moved on to other projects. It must be terrifying to try to follow up A Moon Shaped Pool. You will understand after you experience it. If I was them I would say, "Yep, we did everything we set out to as this band. Time to rest."

The intro to Lotus Flower is among some of Radiohead's finest work.
