genuinely the more practice the better. it's a practical skill that I don't think you'll be able to pick up from books personally

Thanks dr Imran, just quick 3 part question related to lead gown. During early in training, Is alot of your time spent wearing lead and in fluroscopy? Also in the last 2 years once you choose msk route, are your msk injection list in Hospital mainly xray or ultrasound guided and finally, do u rotate in interventional as diagnostic radiologist during training. I am not a fan of wearing lead due to back pain history. Just trying to figure out how much of lead I have to wear during the 5 year training, as someone interested in msk. Sorry is long text, thank you so much again, plz keep up.

1. depends on what kind of radiology you do even in msk. I chose not to do flouroscopic procedures as a consultant and avoided it if i could. Occasionally i did have to waer leads for a morning session (4 hours). 2. MSK route can have flouro but i chose to specialise mainly in sport injury stuff rather than tumours so i didnt have to do complex procedures. I don't like how long procedures can take....I'm all about efficiency with my time 3. During the intereventional block of training we spent about 3 months in intervention and I only really went into the IR room once a week. I was strategic and obvious about not wanting to do long term IR. So i did intervention things under ultrasound guidance instead. If you have a medical condition that prevents you then you can always let them know of this and it would be harsh of them from occupational health point of view to expect you to do it (might depend on where you work) Hope that answers you question :)
