Made it out to kimbolton in Huntington/Cambridgeshire on Friday to see memorial for the 379th bombardment group. Unfortunately didn’t get to the church to see the memorial there due to time. This one is one I wanted to cover for a while now especially in the case of the Charlie Brown - Franz Stigler incident. The 379th were deactivated in Casablanca on the 25th of July 1945 and were reactivated in 2003 as the 379th expeditionary operations group which is the largest in the US Air Force. If you get the chance to return to Kimbolton and get to visit the karting club properly, the clubhouse has a small museum dedicated to the 379th BG

@@stormus65 I would really like to go back to the go kart track. Would be amazing to go around the track and as you said see the small museum

@Walking_wartime one of my friends is a marshal at the kart track, I'm sure something could be arranged. In the museum they've got there are also a pair of 1/48 scale models I was commissioned to build depicting Ye Olde Pub and Franz Stiglers BF109-G6 which are on permanent display there. Furthermore, if you ever get to Seething, there's another pair of models I've build, this time in 1/72 scale which I donated to their museum today, as that's where Ye Olde Pub landed on Dec 20th, 1943

@@stormus65 ah that’s awesome. That would be cool sometime. I think I saw that on Facebook that’s brilliant
