His peak was in 2010. After that everything is downhill from there, speed, strength, mentality. Main reason why Djokovic started to collect GS since then apart from Federer also retiring

@@ultramanx9568Everything went downhill for Nadal since 2010? He had already won 9 Grand Slam titles at the beginning of 2011. Now he has 22 GS titles. Besides, Djokovic was already winning 'Big Titles' and Grand Slams while Federer and Nadal were still being healthy and competitive.

@@Dark_Voice 2011/12 Nadal was very similar to his 2010 version and Djokovic defeated him in 7 consecutive finals. He beat Nadal twice on clay in 2011. Djokovic in 2011 and 2015 was better than 2010 Nadal, just look at the stats. Besides, Federer was reaching Grand Slam Finals until 2019. Djokovic won 16 Grand Slam during that period of time.

The winner wasn't the shot of the rally - the cross court backhand earlier that the opponent had to lob back - that was the shot of the rally.

It's not the most blockbuster shot, but it was a difficult one to hit mechanically. He's unloading a baseline-scraping two-handed backhand-with pace-on a ball that's higher than his head. That's a very awkward (and ballsy) shot.

Many shots here aren’t deep at all, most aren’t very clinical, the half-hearted lob at the end should really have been dealt with better and even finished by de minaur, and the final shot, though good, wasn’t extraordinary. It wasn’t very close to side line and had de minaur guessed right he’d have gotten it. Sure, it was on the line, but when the opponent is at the net your ball doesn’t need to be deep, it needs to be wide - as far to the right or left of the opponent as possible. In fact, it hitting the line is a risk he probably shouldn’t have taken. I just came from watching his match against Nole in Madrid 2009, so my standards for what a “good” shot and point are, are currently that high. Tbf, if the standard for “good” is points from the big3’s prime years, the standard is probably unfairly high.
