Rafael Nadal says there is 'high percentage' he retires in 2024

Rafael Nadal has said he is not in a position to make a call on his tennis future but there is a high percentage this season will be his last.

Nadal made his competitive return to tennis at the Brisbane International where he lost 6-4, 6-4 alongside doubles partner Marc López. He will make his singles return against Dominic Theim on Tuesday.

The way rafa made us feel while he was playing some extraordinary matches and points is something which we will never forget.....tennis community needs to be thankful to him for the way he has inspired many generations to take up the sport....Rafa is pure emotion ❤️💯💪

I think him retiring this year depends on his health. If he finish the year healthy I think he will not retire this year for sure. That is why he said high % 😊

It’ll be his last FULL season tour for sure. But if he ends the year healthy… why would he retire? He’d probably play the AO and a full clay season next year. Then Wimbledon and end at the USO or the Finals if he’s back in the Top 10 🤷‍♂️

I’m 100% sure it’ll be his last full season on tour. But not last. I mean look at Federer, when he knew his knees was done he said he was gonna have one more season and just play the Grand Slams and Grass tournaments. But obviously his knees had other ideas. I think if Nadal is healthy he’ll play some of the bigger clay tournaments next year. Nothing else.

I wish many successful tournaments for Nadal! He's a true legend. Also I want to wish myself to be there when Nadal is playing. A few years ago I missed Nadal's ATP semi finals. I've been to see most other top players but never was lucky enough to experience Nadal's amazing performances.

My two favourite players are roger federer and rafael nadal, roger has already retired and when nadal retires then theres no point watching tennis anymore. As for novak, cant stand the guy, very arrogant and self centred brat and has the least amount of class of the big 3.
