This laptop cost me an arm and a leg about a year ago and my battery don't even last 2 min. I contacted Asus in South Africa only for them to tell me it's out of warranty and need to do a pay repair or replacement. Isn't the battery in this laptop a lithium ion battery? What is the normal expected cycle and life span.? Secondly when running the laptop are you supposed to unplug it off mains and let the battery drain to 30% before repluging back into mains? Is this instruction in the manual? I'm sick I have to buy a new battery and can well imagine the cost. Rectron and Pinnacle are the agents in South Africa.

The battery is responsible for degrading my laptops performance, ironically others with similar issues report 50,000 cycles. I think there is something really wrong with this battery design on this model.

There are better chargers to be sure. For best life you want to run it from 80% charge down to 20%, and that does mean you get 60% of the rated capacity, but the battery will last many more cycles. More advanced chargers let you do this, and then easily "top up" to 100% for times when you'll need it.

sadly my zenbook pro duo`s battery life decreased to 30 minutes after updating to windows 11. do you think it is the battery or is it due to the new windows?

Mine too decreased to probably 15 minutes from at least an hour, I haven't treat my battery great, but windows 11 murdered it.

@@disdain6085 how long does your battery last in general? im finding mine only goes for approx 40min off of max charge. contemplating replacing it. im on win11 too

@@collinsmith6565 Think yourself lucky, mine drops about 10% in a minute. so we can estimate my battery will last approximately 10-15 minutes with nothing open, second screen off and on power saver.

Sadly reverting to windows 10 didn't fix the problem anymore therefore the battery is permanently damaged ... GG Microshit
