The pianist lowered the key by down to three lines tho. I mean that was too high especially for a performance that hasn’t been practiced before. She still pointed out to him like you bastard don’t mess with me because the song is slow to climax it’s getting like b b ba ba bah BAH BAAAAH! Like you just have to consider that BAAAH moment. Lol. She nailed it regardless.

I agree, however, if you check the her cover of this song, she recorded that song in a lower tone; and in this occasion, the music director set the tone to be higher, that’s why she said: “That’s high”... Problem here? THIS LADY DOESN’T KNOW LIMITS WHEN IT COMES TO HER VOICE, lol!

I don't know if she would've won. She didn't have the confidence she has now ( not saying she didn't have any). That season was stacked with talent but she should have gone further than they allowed. And remember this is the same year that Fantasia won, and I don't think she would have beaten her.

I’ve watched this about 20 times. This is someone who knows how to sing and understands her own voice. Her musicality shines here and you can tell how much she genuinely loves this song. Her incredible range has and sound has come so far from the original American Idol audition - truly an Impossible Dream.

If I can remember, it wasn't up to the judges by that point, it was up to America. To be honest, America voted Jennifer Hudson and Fantasia in the bottom category. Now they are the two most successful artists from that season. Go figure.

I want to believe that Simon knew that if she won she wouldn’t have been AS successful. Look at the winners overall. Only 2 have had great success. Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood are the tops but none of the other winners. Laine Hardy is having some success. But the runners up or further back have had good runs. Daughtery, Aiken, Lambert, etc.
