"You better watch your back with this guy! There’s a chance he’s gonna break it!" This line flew over my head when I listened to it. At first, I thought that Clint was calling Tony a traitor and a sell-out. Now I realize he was also putting the blame on Tony for Rhodey’s paralysis. Had Tony just let the JSOC guys go after Steve and not the other Pro-Accords Avengers, Rhodey would never have been crippled by Vision by accident.

It's also nice hearing that Hawkeye believed in some sense of solidarity in what the Avengers we're doing. Clearly he was on the same page as Nick Fury. Earth's protection against external threats relies on the exceptional few, not the grand armies of bloated governments and bureaucracies.

Tony and Steve both had good points. Tony wanted the avengers to remain together cuz they’re stronger that way. Steve wanted the same, he just didn’t trust the government they were working under. Zemo didn't do much, the only thing he did was show Stark the video, otherwise all the other events don't need Zemo, if you remove him most of the events will still play out the same way. The Gvts of the world wanted the Avengers to be supervised especially after what Wanda did in Lagos and Zemo had nothing to do with that. The airport scene had nothing to do with Zemo, the Avengers were arrested because they broke the law, if you remove Zemo the airport scene still plays out maybe without Bucky and BP because he didn't blow up the UN but most likely Cap will still be trying to stop some terror act without permission from the UN. The final scene is even worse Zemo was lucky that ironman arrived the same time as Bucky and Cap even though they had a 24hr head start or that team Cap decided to let Bucky and Cap be the ones to escape, it could have been Cap and Sam , even worse widow attacking BP had nothing to do with Zemo, heck the outcome of the airport scene had nothing to do with Zemo

I feel like this was a very poor interpretation of General Ross, from my understanding, Ross and his motives are much more fleshed out in the Hulk Comics, plus the whole Betty/Bruce dynamic isn’t really a thing in the MCU aside from the first movie whilst it’s a core factor of almost everything in the comics.
@Nazo-kage

@@RAGE-OF-SPARTA-X They might’ve flushed it out more if marvel felt that another hulk movie would’ve been viable. But I watched a video that looked into everything Ross does throughout the entire MCU including the hulk movie. And it all paints a guy that doesn’t care what he hast to do and how many civilians he might inadvertently hurt so long as he gets what he wants. And going by the little pieces of info you get from both the hulk movie and then the first avengers movie. My headcanon is that a Ross tricked Bruce to take the serum for what he expected to be a win-win scenario. Either Bruce dies Or it works turning him into a super soldier, at which point he is then arrested and then dissected. It was just good luck/bad luck that the third option of him becoming the hulk and running away happened, and all of it was because Ross didn’t like the guy dating his daughter.

Such an underrated Hawkeye scene. It always means something when one of the characters get angry, but it means even more for Clint. He's such a chill guy all the time. Never loses his cool. Never gets angry, never gets excited. But when he straight up yells at Tony, it means something. Also - and I know this is an unpopular opinion- but Tony was a bit of a jerk in this scene. The swipe he took at Clint about his wife and kids was uncalled for. The way he shuts down Ant Man and leaves the Avengers wallowing in a cage was too much. Especially when he saw Hawkeye and Wanda. It was a great piece of writing about heroes turned against each other, so I'm not blaming the writing. The writing was great - especially for this scene. But as a character, Tony was being a bit of a jerk.

Tony signed the Accords because he knew that if they didnt sign now on their own terms, it would be done to them later, and that would mean violence and death. He was trying to maintain peace with the rest of the world since 117 countries signed this and were willing to enforce it. The government's of the world are very powerful, so being allies with them is much better than being enemies. Tony understood that the Avengers needed to stay together no matter what in case a greater threat came. The only way to be a united front for when Thanos comes, which is what Tony has been preparing for since 2012, is to sign the Accords on their own terms. The Avengers will have a good relationship with the world and still be a team. Remember they can amend things they dont agree with which is exactly what Tony did. Fighting it delays the inevitable, and when they become forced to abide by it, they will have no say and no flexibility. *The question is not if the Accords are a good idea or not because they didnt have a choice. The question is who handled the situation best, and that was Tony. Tony handled it best because he had the best long term solution to their problem.*

This is why i love Civil War. Niether side was fully right or wrong. Tony was right to believe the Avengers need to be held accountable for the chaos by an impartial system (he even fought to ensure secret identities were not revealed, unlike in the comics). But he was wrong in trusting Ross being part of it, a man infamous for how anti-hero he is. He was also wrong in making the decision for everyone without thier input. Cap was right to believe the Avengers should not be tied down by governments ghaf would be far too slow to act and allow people to die needlessly. But he was wrong in thinking that the Avengers did not need to be held accountable because they save more people than they lose. Wanda was a perfect example of good intentions gone wrong, and for that, some manner of regulation is needed. Not just fof the Avengers, but any dangerous meta-human who may not even realize how dangerous theg are. Part of the Accords included programs that help new meta-humans understand and safely learn how to use thier powers. Civil War was such a damn good movie

I am laughing at the face of those people who are vilifying Tony Stark and forgetting about what Wanda did. Clearly both sides are wrong and also right, they just don't communicate and trust each other enough.

@La ciruela mal dibujada Tony signed the Accords because he knew that if they didnt sign now on their own terms, it would be done to them later, and that would mean violence and death.

@@davids.3584 The Accords couldn't be forced onto the Avengers, because the government isn't powerful enough to take on the Avengers. The government couldn't have done shit about Ultron, but the Avengers did. The government couldn't have done shit about Thanos, but the Avengers did. Point is, the Avengers are more powerful than any government or military. They can't make the Avengers do a damn thing.

TheShaun What the hell are they supposed to do about nuclear bombs? Also that mentality makes them enemies. The world will hate them. And if your answer is “Well so be it” then that’s Injustice Superman mentality, and he ain’t a role model

Tony is such a baby in this movie. He's the good cop but only when it suits him. When Sam landed and immediately asked if Rhodes was all right after someone else shot him, Tony just blasted him and now he wants to act like he's on their side??? This movie is really just Tony proving why the Sokovia accords should exist to stop people like him.

Stark being good psychologist here. He knows that neither Clint or Scott is going to tell him information about Cap. But Sam will because he feels guilty for Rhodey. Also because he is "new" in Avengers and respects Tony as "old".
