Nothing he did was personal to the individual. He disagreed with what the Avengers represented, with what they did. He still holds respect for the good deeds, but when his entire home and family are killed because a robot that Tony Stark created went to war with the Avengers, he's gonna want some payback. He even recognizes them as people who make mistakes that are idolized by the public. But that doesn't mean he'll give them a pass for making mistakes. He wants to tear down the symbols they represent, not the people who carry them

Revenge often cannot be done without great loss. This could be emotionally, financially, mentally, and all consuming. All of which does not make your life better. It is actually one of the things that makes the movie Batman Begins so good. Bruce could no longer take revenge on the person who killed his parents because someone beat him to it. He needed to learn a whole new way path forward. One that was constructive not destructive. One that actually makes your life better not stagnating and mired in revenge.

He saw the cosmic threats that humanity was woefully unprepared for, and also knew that these powerful people equipped to protect Earth would be most effective together. Thanos would've succeeded in his plan indefinitely if it weren't for the Avengers. At the same time, like Zemo said a group of terrifyingly powerful people left to their own devices can be just as catastrophic as any outside threat. Zemo’s origin just proves how incredible Joker’s philosophy about how “All it takes is one bad day” is. One minute Zemo was with his family happy, he believed he was safe because The Avengers were there, the next, he found his family underneath rubble, cradling their lifeless bodies. He lost everything. He didn’t want to kill The Avengers he wanted to tear them apart and truly destroy them

Thing was, Zeni wasnt a wide-eyed idealist. You don't get to be a Colonel running a death squad (and from the looks of things he wasn't doing it from behind a desk) without seeing some shit. I feel like Joker is wrong though. It's about choice. In the Killing Joke, after he tortures Gordan and tries to make him see how he sees the world and break a good man, Gordon doesn't break. The Avengers were wrong. But Zemo chose violence and vengeance. He chose the wrong path because he was hurt. But he's not right.

@@WaveyDavey645 You also have to consider the ramifications of him being kept alive. There was already a political rift created inside the government of Wakanda. He was a member of the royal family of Wakanda and T'Challa already tried mercy. His mercy is what led to more people dying and keeping him alive would have just created more unnecessary deaths. This whole arc was generated specifically to teach T'Challa that some decisions as a king cannot be 100% morally correct. Also it was ritual combat and somebody had to die in ritual combat. Killmonger yielded by dying.

~10 in-universe years later, Shuri lived up to her brother’s legacy and did not allow vengeance to consume her. She earned the mantle of Panther at that moment.

The Black Panther suit in Civil War is so much sicker and more aggressive looking than the updated one. They should’ve kept that design.
