I agree Ollie Watkins has been superb, but so has Dominic Solanke at Bournemouth, both should be serious contenders for the euro squad, and the poty. From a match going City fan for 51 years, well done today Villa and Palace, you both made it a fantastic weekend for us blues. Hope Villa get 4th you deserve it without doubt, the only team that has outplayed us this season.

Gotta say, at the start of the season I had my doubts about Watkins - felt like he was a Theo Walcott repeat, not clinical enough to be a consistent goalscorer and too reliant on pace, but he's really kicked it up a notch this year. Still misses more than he should do but 19 goals is nothing to sniff at. Fair play.

He's a lot more clinical than he used to be. This season he's really stepped it up. He talked about it in his post match interview so seems to be self aware about it.

Goals-wise, yeah, Ollie is 1 behind. But you add assists to that, and he blows everyone else away. He's waaaaaaay put ahead of anyone else in the prem this season.

@@rjwg47 We had Matty & JJ out as well no one is tallking about the massive injury list to key players we have out with Kamara and buedina , mings and now JJ out for season who all would be regs . Sick of hearing every other teams injuury list getting bought up vs us but no mention of ours, Emery has adapted to the injuries is incredible never used them as an excuse unlike other managers .

Remember foden destroyed villa. 3 goals of his making that most wouldn't have got. The team nullified everything other than stop the super talented foden from being great. So the team selection though was forced in its selection isn't in anyway a reason of defeat. phil foden being unplayable was. The guy was just a menace all game.

Watkins is ok but just another overrated "English player": One dimensional, low intelligence, no stamina or determination eg; Saka, Rashford, Grealish, Dele, etc. Top players need intelligence which Spanish, French, Italian, German all have.
