A fallout game connected us with this video from 1986. Weird times.

I've had multiple comments about this. Is it used in New Vegas? If so, how? Background? Radio?

@@GaryMoyers Fallout New Vegas came out in 2010 and did NOT contain this song, however the game has become so beloved that a group began redoing the game with better graphics & sound. They have released a trailer of their work and how the game now looks (it’s not complete yet) with this song accompanying the trailer. Please see below. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/gMeee7CTt9Cyemw.html

I had forgotten about this tune until a few days ago, when I was reading a memoir by Garson Kanin about his experiences in the Golden Age of Hollywood. Harry Cohn produced a lot of good movies and made a ton of money in the process. But one of his proudest achievements was when, as a hardworking young song plugger, he was able to browbeat a skeptical world into loving this song, sometimes singing it 50 or 60 times a day, all over New York. Everyone thought it was too hard to sing and to remember. Now of course Ragtime Cowboy Joe is stuck in my head, possibly forever.

Ragtime Cowboy Joe was written in 1912 by Grant Clarke, Maurice Abrahams, and Lewis F. Muir. It was used in live performance and recorded some between then and 1930 when it started to show up in films and later on televison. According to imdb, 4 films in the 1930s, 3 in the 1940s, 6 tv shows in the 1950s, and 1 Mrs. Maisel in 2018. The lyricist also wrote Second Hand Rose and Am I Blue which are the only 2 of his songs to have more tv-movie appearances than "Joe".

It's weird how every they sing "ol' Wyoming" it sounds like they are singing "Arizona."
