I first saw the Flying J in 1990 at the Chuckwagon Jamboree in Colorado Springs. I really enjoyed seeing this video of the early group from '86 -- and this song is a favorite of mine, as I love Ruidoso and NM. Amazing what surfing around KZfaq can uncover! :-)

This song is featured at The Aztec Museum and Pioneer Village located in Aztec, New Mexico. It is featured on an existing exhibit made of hand carved wooden figurines and landscape. Took like 10 years to make and has 1000+ individual pieces. It tells the story of the people settling here making their way.

I grew up on the Flying J Ranch in New Mexico, and I know these lyrics by heart. James is an amazing song writer. And an amazing person. Come to the U.S. and visit some day!
