He was the reason I started watching izombie and the reason I stuck with it. Dude deserves to be the lead in a show because he's so unique and funny

I love how open Rahul is about being emotional. That's a tough thing for a man to say sometimes. But because he's so open about that, I feel with him. When he said the affirmation from the izombie casting director, I got tears in my eyes because I could feel what he's feeling. He's awesome. I don't think he has anything to figure out or change about his emotionality. No one would tell a woman she should control emotions so they're compartmentalized. He's just very human. I think the way he is could be very inspirational to men who are told there's something wrong with them for being emotional.

This was lovely, I remember seeing him in iZombie and thinking, "Where has this guy been? He's great!", was my favorite character. Kinda made me think of a British Zachary Levi, just that friendly nerd energy. Always a plus when a person is a little nerdy or passionate about something 😄.

I swear every interview I hear of Kohli's always gives me a new vantage point to appreciate. Model painting has always self-deprecatingly been that "weird nerdy shit," but thinking of it as a sort of meditation gives me a new way to articulate why I love the hobbies I do! (Loved the random Gundam shout-out too!)

Rahul is always so genuine and open, he has the vibe of sometime who would be a great friend. he's fast becoming one of my favourite people

Rahul and I agree about Jack from The Shining. That was my problem with the change from the book as well. Jack from the film hated and resented his family from the start…that was not book Jack. The movie Doctor Sleep was a great firmware update to it and that’s a great way to talk about it.

I was already a big fan but hearing about how Mike Flanagan treats his actors made me much much more in love with his work, imagine not knowing when will your next job come and then the director says to you "by the way, we're working together again soon" THAT MUST FEEL SO GOOD TO HEAR and such a nice thing to do for people.

this is one of the best interviews on the channel - it like hit the ground running - i've never seen this guy or seen any of his shows........but he's a good story teller. his mark hamill/harrison ford comparison rang so true. feels like white folks get to be individuals but non whites get lumped together ..........and that feels like its robbing someone's humanity and individuality. it's super dismissive and cruel.

I think I just had my Mark Hamill moment, that he remembers me from the Con in Arkansas and him remembering our meet like that is just awesome...For people that are on the fence on meeting Rosey, it's definitely worth the time and mileage...PS. Glad I'm not the only one that thought the ending of iZombie was rushed. Like it didn't ruin the show for me obviously because I loved it and I get what they were going for but to kinda just go "it all ended up basically fine in the end, this happened then this happened" and then it was over. Kinda reminded me of what WB did to Suicide Squad when they recut/edited it and suddenly whole chunks were cut out and there was just voiceovers going "anyways they fell in love" and it's like "we've got so long to tell this story and you skipped over that bit?"

I love what I've seen of Rahul's work, and I'm so glad he's been noticed! I'm surprised that Rahul is an emotionally volatile personality, because his characters I've only seen iZombie and Bly Manor) are so steady. Beware of a bipolar diagnosis! It has been a fad diagnosis for decades now. As someone who feels everything very acutely, I was diagnosed as "atypical bipolar" in my mid-20s, because I described my happy days as euphoric and my bad days as full of despair. I then went through several years of meds that I did not need, and that made me ill. (What I had was a food allergy; among my reactions are looooong crying jags) If you're "cycling" within a single day, or if the medical professional says that your manic stage might be presenting as high anxiety, be very wary. I know truly bipolar people. They can't hold down jobs or keep relationships. They forget where they've been for weeks at a time. They're getting arrested for reckless behavior, wrecking their cars, getting up at 3am to renovate the house... then they sleep all the time and don't eat for a few months. Living in a rainy climate for years on end without a permanent home, and being uncertain from year to year that you will have a job -- that all sounds like a recipe for being depressed and for acting out. Btw people with Attention Deficit disorders can have mood cycles that look like mild bipolar.

Good show, haven't watched Midnight Mass yet but really enjoyed this. As someone who has done model building (even Gundam building, I do recommend it those kits are very cathartic) as therapy it was good to hear about it from someone random like this.

Absolutely love this for a lot of reasons. The honesty is disarming. I'm guessing we're talking cyclothymia here. (Lots of stigma attached to all sorts of diagnoses and I know this is not *for* anyone specifically but it *could* help people to make a distinction between bipolar and cyclothymia) I am glad Rahul is putting in the work for his mental health irrespective of the approaches to it. Love the way he described painting the miniatures, very relatable. Therapy comes in all forms and doesn't have to lead to medication always. (Bingeing on Rahul's shows and content has helped me get out of my head lately. Came here for the thirst traps to distract myself now I'm invested in this man's wellbeing XD )

Great interview as always! Actors have long expressed difficulty shooting in Vancouver because it's so dreary and cold. The earliest example I remember reading was Richard D Anderson when they moved production of Macguyver back to the US. One thing I haven't heard is why shows don't shoot during the summer. Vancouver weather usually gets better shortly after TV shows stop shooting for the season. Why not shift production to the warmer months. This would have been more convincing for a lot of shows such as Lucifer which is supposed to have been taking place in LA, but for some bizarre reason shoots in winter Vancouver. At least iZombie chose the story to take place in Seattle so the Vancouver weather wouldn't be out of place.

Reading the comments have renewed my love for Rahul Kohli. Coz, it's true. He is amazing and a great actor. I'm so happy more people feel the same way. It disheartening that he isn't in a lead role. Like Mike get on that or some director, he is really the greatest and I have loved him since I Zombie and he was so much fun to watch just him being around. I stopped since the military arc was coming. Other than that i'm so happy reading all the comments appreciating him. He is truly amazing. I'm so happy other people feel the same.

What a great interview - I follow Rahul on Twitter and he's great. As a non-entertainment person, its hard to understand what actors go through when we see these incredible performances like Midnight Mass. Plus - damn he's hot.

Good episode, I'll definitely look into his work. Tried to get into izombie when it premiered, the story was just ehh. But always love your closing comments. As someone that started his own mental health podcast, I'm constantly getting into my own head and telling myself it's stupid and won't get you anything, but still pushing forward. Take care.

I guess maybe because izombie was the first thing I ever saw him in, I always transposed the character of Ravi onto the actor. It was really cool hearing that he is nothing like that in real life.
