Freight Train Productions takes you in the heart of the Fall Season where we watch CSX operations in Music City- you will see interesting lashups including power from KCS and UP, GP38-3s, exTFM HLCX and CEFX. YN2 Geeps and the new ET44s make an appearance in the yard. Switchers take a local south highballing. Lots of action in Radnor Yard and the CR Drawbridge, S&NA and Chattanooga Subs. Enjoy!

Nice video! I commend you on such a fine display of equipment and locales. I miss the old switchers with their open faced cabs in the style similar to the old steam locomotives. Now a days you see Road switchers and their slugs which is basically converted GP-38 with one engine have the electric generating capacity and the other GP-38 having just traction motors. A link up like this won't win any races or pull mile on freight, but will serve local needs such as switching yard duties and local delivery routes. I see your in Nashville have you explored the Nashville and Eastern as well as it leaser operated counterpart the Nashville and Western? The N&W operates on or around Herman Street and I-40 bridge next to Goodwill Industries and runs to Ashland City more or less. They serve the industries between Charlotte Avenue and Jefferson Street and their rails run in the direction of Jefferson Street then to Tennessee State University from it crosses the river and on to A. C.. there's an interesting story that goes like this. There are several plastic manufacturing plant along that line so by nature they order plastic pellets by the train car load. One day when the were switching out cars at one of these plants the switchman failed to secure the single car out on the main. It went on that while they worked any car cut this loose car began to roll. The car as it rolled picked up speed and all the railroad could do was notify the police and prevent trucks or cars from crossing and getting hit. The car rolled for several miles until it came to to the old turntable bridge that crosses the Cumberland River. Fortunately for the railroad this isn't used on a continuous basis the way its sister bridge and has to remain open at all times, and it is operated remotely. This day the bridge was not in service so the table was open allowing barge traffic unobstructed use of the river channel. Unfortunately for the runaway hopper car it rolled right on out the trestle and at the end plunged right straight into the green water of the Cumberland River. To my knowledge that car and contents are still at the bottom of the river right where it made its big splash. It is deep enough there as to pose no serious threat to river traffic though the river isn't as deep as some say it is. Thanks for the video!

I bet the locomotive engineers blow their horns right at that certain stop just to trip the car alarms!
