In this video you can enjoy the cab ride - train driver's view from Venice Mestre to Trieste along the Venice-Trieste Railway in 4K/60 frames per second.
The Venice-Trieste railway is a main railway line in northeastern Italy that runs mostly along the Gulf of Venice, starting in Venice, Veneto, and ending in Trieste, Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The line is operated by Rete Ferroviaria Italiana, which classifies it as a primary line. Regional passenger service is provided by Trenitalia. The maximum speed reached by the trainsets is 150 km/h.
The construction of the line has a long history. The line was opened between 1885 and 1897 as a part of different projects. It is a 153 km long line, 2 tracks, standard gauge, electrified 3 kV DC.

I live in this region and I know that people complain about how slow trains are on this line. This is Intercity 588 Roma-Trieste; intercity trains can reach 200 km/h, but on this line it doesn't run even 150 km/h. And so frequent slowing down, apparently without reason (no slowing down warning signal), train begins to slow down for station stops kilometers before, then last section between Monfalcone and Trieste with no more than 105 allowed speed. Intercity 588 leaves Mestre at 16.40 and reaches Trieste at 18.37, so nearly 2 hours for 145 km.....

My line! Portogruaro-Caorle is my town's station! i know very well this line! Marvelous and astonishing the Monfalcone-Trieste branch close to Miramare Castle. The upper class scenery of the landscape is breathtaking and speechless!

@@RailRelaxation absolutely, for example the split at 5:10 brings you to Udine if you stay on the left ("convergenza Ud-Ts"). Moreover just a few meters after the San Donà stop, on the right you can see the new station that's being built, which should be active by late 2024! Maybe in a few years re-do the video to see how great it looks! 🤣

One of my favourite lines. In Portogruaro-Caorle station there aren't any "Jazz" trainset. On platform 3 there's an ALe501/ALe502 (electric) "Minuetto" trainset to Treviso and on platform 4 there's an ALn501/ALn502 (diesel) "Minuetto" trainset to Casarsa. On platform 5 there's an ETR 104/204 "Pop". At 00:46 there's the ex station of Fossalta di Portogruaro.

La linea di casa! Ottimo video, vivissimi complimenti! Però delle inesattezze: dopo la partenza da Mestre e "from Verona-Milan" subito manca "TO UDINE". In arrrivo a Portogruaro manca "FROM TREVISO". Dopo Torviscosa non "to Railvay yard" ma "TO CERVIGNANO SMISTAMENTO" e subito dopo non "to Udine" ma "FROM CERVIGNANO SMISTAMENTO" e ancora subito dopo non "From Udine" ma "FROM CERVIGNANO SMISTAMENTO AND UDINE". A Ronchi Sud va tolto "from Panzano", la linea è abbandonata. Dopo Monfalcone due Tunnel, "SABLICE TUNNEL M.81" e "SAN GIOVANNI TUNNEL M.132". Il tunnel "BIVIO AURISINA TUNNEL M.271". E dopo il Barcola Viaduct non "Kressich tunnel" ma "BARCOLA TUNNEL M.75".

Portogruaro Caorle is a major bifurcation on the line as well as Cervignano and Monfalcone. Entering the station u see line from Treviso in the left and going out in the left there's the branch line with Casarsa on the opposite Venezia-Udine mainline.

I think this is not an E.464 loco, since many station screens, along the video, say that the train is an InterCity. E.464 are only used on InterCity services in Southern Italy

Hi. Very good work, with perfect sun orientation for the best lighting (you selected the right time of the day). But I have a question about the informations displayed. Bottom is the current speed, Center is the position on the line. Top value, in meters, with the mountain, it is not the elevation, since it is sometimes negative. What it means ? The slope per km ? Thanks for the answer.

@AntenneQC Thank you for your compliments. The number you are asking about is the elevation, but the data is GPS extracted and sometimes is inaccurate. That is why there are negative numbers. We are at the level so that it would have been around 0.

A Trieste c'è la Bora ... In Trieste there is sometimes the Bora which is a cold wind with gusts of up to 150 km/h ... 🌬

Med vsemi ponudniki tovrstnega potovanja ste prvi med njimi. Slika nima nite enega svetlobnega odbleska ozadja kabine. Kar je treba tudi izpostaviti so časovno primerno dolga potovanja. Ena ura in pol, morda dve je povsem dovolj za imenitno sprostitev na zelo zanimivih popotovanjih.👍🥸
