The Tarka trail has two separate Preservation Societies one at Torrington and the other at Bideford, both have a loco plus a few wagons and a coach serving some refreshments to the cyclist that use the old track bed as a cycle path. Both Societies have the same goal and that is to run trains for the visitors to Devon. The railway would be a massive tourist attraction for the area. The Torrington end are planning on laying about a 1/4 mile of track as soon as plans have been passed. The Bideford end has a short length of track but this looks very over grown and unused but I have seen on there web site that they did have open days and give visitors train rides.
