I know this song is slow/mid Tempo. Ronnie sped it up in concert. Fun fact, this song was used in a Coors light commercial and rainbow in the dark was used in a Budweiser commercial. Dio had two beer commercials. Both are on KZfaq

I remember going through the record bin and coming across this in the New release section. I decided to buy it based on the cover art alone without even looking who was on it. Has been a favorite album ever since.

Rainbow had multiple lead singers, Dio being the best suited for this group. Joe Lynn Turner was pretty good to although not as defined as Ronnie James Dio was. But lets not forget who the originator of the band was, also one of the greatest guitar gods of all time, Ritchie Blackmore. Paired with one of the greatest singers of all time, this was a band beyond its time.

Love it! Imagine us, been listening to Deep Purple for the past 5 years - Ritchie is our God and then news that he's leaving Purple .... devastation .... finally the LP comes out and this is the first riff and the first track we hear! RIP RJD ... Surely, "Orion" by Glenn Hughes has to be next?? 😎

Yes, Iommi is the god of riffs, but Blackmore is pretty close.

I always preferred this live as they kicked it up a gear with the tempo, that was how I first learnt to play it as well and could never go back to this slower tempo.

Sadly neither dio died in 2010 or cozy powell on drums 1998 are longer with us...martin birch produced a lot of deep purple..in regards to scriptures I don't pay attention to scriptures because it was written by men who wrote what they felt like and yes I was raised in a baptist church in australia....
