Ritchie Blackmore is extremely talented and no guitarist can be on his list due to his talent is unmatched. Blackmore should never be on the top 100 guitarist list because Ritchie’s talent level is far out of reach from those other on that list. I agree, Dio never felt to me like he fit in, JLT just did what he was told and figured out the Master knew what the fuck he was doing! Fantastic!

I saw this tour. Ritchie is the best guitar player I have ever seen live. I have seen many I have been to over 300 shows over the years. This was the most commercially successful band that Ritchie put together. JLT was very good live and appealed to the masses.

@@billdbas1691 you're probably right. Everytime I hear talk about great guitar players on radio or you tube I dont hardly ever hear Richie Blackmore. Even on google when have articles on guitar players, his name isnt mentioned. Maybe once in a while but not enough.

Yeah but. Glover supports him instinctively. Rondinelli is a fantastic drummer...... he has the swing like Paicy did. JLT is just brilliant here. The keyboard player is a hired gun, but it all works. The spark is always RB...always.

David Rosenthal wasn't a gun for hire, he was a young talent discovered by Ritchie and stayed until they disbanded. He's gone on to do many great things

Great feeling and playing from MIB! Great to see improvisation like this from the greatest guitar player of our times. Ritchie is sooooo far above and beyond the rest of the guitar players (up and down scale players).

watching ritchie in a live performance is way cooler than listening to him on the cd...it is a totally riverting experience! when the camera pans on the master, ur eyes don't wander, not for a second..great stuff!

The one guitarist that is most often imitated but never duplicated. Besides ritchies tone's I've always been amazed by the fact he has nothing committed to memory (except the highway star solo) so so many great solos and 99% are feel....unreal

Communicating with aliens. When Blackmore played this solo the fast section in "Tearin out my Heart" ( 4:29) he was playing the best guitar solo on the entire planet at that moment. Pulling from the dark side of the netherworld and ripping huge swaths of riff-flesh from the unsuspecting onlookers of Texas.

It's all improvised - he always stuck to the basic song structure but then improvised around it live. That's what set him apart - yes he had his off nights, but on a good one he was unbeatable. Jimmy Page recently stated that he couldn't touch Blackmore's lead playing.

no one else can play or perform like Ritchie live. I have seen all those other guys in their prime. Page was great on studio stuff. But live he could not pull alot of his stuff off live. Blackmore just pumped it up.

My, My, how the world will miss Ritchie when he is gone. The most melodic, and flairfull guitarists of the 20th century. I know he's still alive. But he has given up on life, and music. Which is very, very, sad. I hope he finds himself someday before he is gone.

Yes he is unbelivable and unpredictable. Everybody can find a bid of classic, progressive and any kind of rock in his work, trully the best guitar player in the entire world for me!!! I wish i could have a chnce to sing alongside him.
