I have Brook Trout. If you get them from a supplier or from someone with a permit, you don’t need a permit to own them. If you’re in California highly recommend them. They eat invertebrates and crustaceans. They’re adorable and live a long while! For trout I have to say brooks are the greatest choice!
@flashy51502 жыл бұрын
Instead of an aquarium heater, you need a cooler. You don’t need a fan, you need a pump that forces water at the surface and creates current like a stream or fast flowing creek. The air doesn’t get in the water unless the surface of the water has been broken with an air stone or pump.

It amazes me that some people who are into keeping aquariums don't know this. When I use to keep freshwater aquariums I always made sure that my fish had plenty of oxygenated water.

Keep them in a huge kiddy pool with heavy water flow, a bubbler, maybe a small water fall or a fountain to oxygenate the water then add plenty of aquatic plants. Add a place for coverage like a huge peice of river wood and you should be good to go.

Well how else would you have known unless ya tried it yourself? I applaud the effort nonetheless. it was worth the go or else I'm sure you wouldn't be trying it. They do seem a little agile to be in an aquarium. They're continual swimmers and are mostly bred for rivers and streams. it's disproportionate to have them, but was worth the shot. I can see why it'd be difficult having them in there. the one kept looking like it would breech the surface. or bang the side of the aquarium. (either one) it was swimming uncontrollably as it would in a river. The waters chaotic so it would be hard to match that in a tank. So, any attempt at this is an accomplishment in my book. not to many success stories I'm afraid. They don't seem to like them either but well tried. 👍🏽
