Yes, one of my favourites too. I agree with Schubert comparison. Especially in Sor's later works, there always seems to be shadows lurking, even when it's calm...

I have nails on all the fingers (not particularly short) but on the thumb I don't use it here (just as Sor himself prefered).

@@PatrikKleemola Your playing has such a gentle tone, which I suppose comes from a combination of the guitar itself and of your finger strokes. It would be interesting to hear this with no nails at all (although I wouldn't have the courage to cut mine off!).

@@ericphillips7057 I would love to experiment "no nails" approach, but since I often play also contemporary music it wouldn't work so well.

Very nice! I truly enjoy hearing these works on a period instrument. Could you possibly tell us a bit about this guitar? Is it ladder braced? woods? strings you use? I have a parlor guitar from about 1910 (ladder braced, rosewood and spruce) on which I am beginning to learning Sor's work. Not quite the same sound, but closer than a modern classical guitar.

Thank you! This is an original Louis Panormo guitar from 1838. Sor probably played himself sometimes with Panormo's instruments as he is one of the luthiers Sor mentions in his Methodé pour la guitare (1830).
