CASA KRISTINA | RAINY DAY DRINK : TSOKOLATE EH!
This rainy season 🌧 got us all craving HOT drinks! What’s a better partner to a rainy day than Spanish-style hot chocolate?? ☕️🍫 There’s something about a cozy cup of cocoa + listening to your favorite playlist on a gloomy day... Here in the Philippines we have our traditional hot chocolate called the TSOKOLATE EH! My grandmas Mita Elaine & Mita Helen would make this when my cousins and I were kids, it was always around when we’d drive up to the mountain region and be around pine trees with that cool Baguio breeze. I like my ‘tsokolate-eh’ decadent, creamy, chocolatey... with a touch of sugar and spice. Some parts naughty... Some parts nice. 😉
To try my version, here’s what you’ll need:
- Unsweetened Philippine Tableas
- Coconut Milk or any milk of your choice!
- Drinking Water
- Coco Sugar 🥥
- Peanut butter
- Crushed Peanuts 🥜
- Cinnamon
- Cayenne Pepper
Also try traditional-style with your ‘Tsokolatera’ and ‘Batirol’!
