I need to get better at getting away from my premiums like you did with AK to villain's turn jam in the final 3. Was that a clear fold for you? I'm assuming villain has a lot of 2 pairs and straights there but also a lot of one pair with straight draws as well. Newish to poker so you might not have explained your thoughts on this hand because it might be an obvious fold but would love to hear your thoughts.
@pabl1to33
@pabl1to33 3 жыл бұрын
Hes getting jammed over a big bet on turn, most likely two pair or straight as you said. Heros range still contains 2 pairs and straights, so a jam in that spot is very strong..
@TheSwede9
@TheSwede9 3 жыл бұрын
I thought it was kind of weird to make that sizing of 250k on the turn bet if the intention is to fold to the jam. I know he had his reasons but I too would've loved to have known more about the reasoning behind that turn sizing and fold.
@bxball

@@TheSwede9 he didn't explain it but I assumed it was to protect against/charge all the one pair open ender combos.
@thedonkey7211
@thedonkey7211 3 жыл бұрын
Hi @Tommy Smith, I think it's because in that spot, when Bencb size that much T, he is polarizing itself between TPTK, straight, 2 pairs and some bluff to balance that. So villain's range would have call all its one pair combo draw type hand because there's no point to shove let's say KT hands or QT in villain's shoes because you would have isolate yourself against better and loose hero bluffing range. So villain's c/r range will be as you said in value 2 pairs / straight and his bluffing range would have been some Ahxh to balance it's value range but Bencb is blocking them with his A of hearth.

Hi Ben, I started studying poker recently through your videos. I have a question about one of your hands today at 19:33 where you flop a full house (holding 55, board flops 2 5 2) and you choose to slow play your hand. However, in one of your other videos that speaks about playing your value hands properly (link: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oeComdJ-r7KvqoU.html), the very first hand you analyse flopping trips (JJ) on a 8 J 5 board, you explain why it is better to lead aggressively when you are ahead and slow playing might not really maximise the value from that hand. Did I misunderstand something?

Normally I do not read nor write comments before I finished a video. But jeeez these first 15 minutes of bad luck were horrible to watch. Two times aces got smashed by two pair and these 4-board flushes and straights. Holy shit. How are you able to stay that calm, Ben? Must be a hell of a secret. Congrats, I guess....
