hello, a slovene here! this song was inspired by the story of veronika deseniška. she was the first woman in slovenia to be accused of witchcraft, killed by drowning.

After checking up the meaning of this song and the inspiration of Veronika, the first woman to be convicted for witchcraft in Slovenia, this music video made so much more sense to me. I am hooked, this is pure art🔥 The emotions that represents her feelings, water that reflects her death of being drowned, movements of the dancers being shackled, Veronika crawling and making her way against the burning ashes.. and so on. This is so beautiful, thank you for this masterpiece Raiven. I will root and vote for Slovenia, my favorite this year! Love from 🇸🇪 🇹🇭

The artist was super promising already with an amazing and very recognisable voice. @@ararune3734 da slazem se:) ma skorz mi je nebitno ko ce da pobedi, vise mi je ono super osecaj i veoma drago sto ove godine ex yu zemlje sve imaju strava pesme, zato i kazem koliko imamo kreativnih ljudi:) Ja nekako sve nas dozivljavam kao iste ljude ili bar jako slicne ( nije politicki kontekst i neka se niko ne ljuti 😊) Naravno da ne sudim po tome da li smo komsije ali stvarno super su pesme ove godine pa uzivam u maloj dozi lokal patriotizma haha😂…Slazem se za Svajcarsku I Holandiju, vrlo moguce, a i super su im pesme realno:)

@@SR-xt4be Pa meni nije toliko na osobnoj razini bitno, ali ako gledaš pragmatično, onda je jasno kad ljudi ocjene da je ovo natjecanje političke prirode, umjesto glazbene, onda ćemo vidit pad interesa. Neke zemlje su se već povukle, a poglavito južnoeuropske zemlje. S druge strane, drago mi je da ste vi i Slovenci poslali pisme na vašim jezicima, volija bi da smo tako i mi, ali šta ćeš. Mislim da su ljudi ponosniji (domoljublje na n-tu) kad je njihov pobjednik na njihovom jeziku, primjerice Salvador Sobral s pismom na portugalskom (Amar Pelos Dois), ili Molitva. Ja i danas znam tekst Amar Pelos Dois iako ne govorim portugalski. Po meni bi to triba bit barem dio poante Eurovizije. Tako, volija bi da zemlje šalju svoje jezike, ako ne uvik, barem malo češće. Nedavno sam baš namjerno tražija post-yu pisme koje imaju veći broj pregleda nego stanovništva, za HR, BIH i RS i stvarno je nevjerojatno koliko puno takvih pisama možeš nać, recimo S.A.R.S. - Perspektiva ima čini mi se 75M pregleda Tako da ne prihvaćam ideje da naši jezici ne mogu dobro proći, trebamo se bolje reprezentirati. Wow. Slovenia definitely took a risk by choosing Raiven. This is HER 100%. 👏 Raiven is unapologetically avant-garde and edgy. 👏 I love the way she experiments with sounds and her vocals. This might be too elevated and artistic for Eurovision though. If viewers couldn't connect with Blanca Paloma last year, I don't think they'll get this, which has a more somber tone. Regardless of the result, I love that she was granted the honor to represent her country with her talent 👏🇸🇮❤🇸🇮❤🇸🇮❤🇸🇮❤

@@jeffrey5125 Well I don't care about results, but Slovenia is far from a powerhouse. Sure some songs are ok, and have its fanbase, but we were never even close to the top, so we are not an ESC powerhouse. Even this song is dramatic but forgettable. There is not much of a melody if you take out the dramatic sound effects.

At first I was insecure about this song, that’s why I waited to comment. My first thought were this is more a jury pleaser. Now with all the upbeat songs we have, this is going to stand out. No doubt she will qualify and in the finals this will make the top 5 with juries. My guess would be 7th place in the finals.

Now THIS is what I want from Eurovision: song in a national language, written and produced by locals, drawing on its own national history, powerful vocals...No bullshit, no gimmicks, no Melodifestivalen rejects, no cheap imitations of US singers (yes, I am talking about you Cyprus, Greece, Azerbaijan, Switzerland,etc)

Pohvale za Martin Bezjak (Epix Soundworks) in ostali ekipi z Raiven na čelu za nenormalno dobro sproduciran komad. Veronika je čisto mojstrstvo v vseh ozirih. Upam, da Raiven izpelje predstavo v Malmoju na tak način kot si sama želi ali predstavlja.
