Just because you're Buddhist doesn't mean you'll know everything about Buddhism. There many Hindus, who doesn't even know no. Of vedas. Now, Buddhism at its initial didn't favor idolatry as Buddha didn't called itself god. But after his mahaparinirvana, it got divided in multiple sects- mahayana and hinyana. Mahayana were idol worshipers and that ciuld be the reason why they called raja roy anti buddhist.

It talks about untouchability, child marriage, education system, concept of nationalism, unemployment, child labor, promotes staycations and encourages participatory of countrymen in local developmental activities. @@ayushbh6839 with due respect to P V Narasimha Rao, just to mention the time line that has linkage to French revolution 1789-1799...Raja Ram Mohon is belongs to that time and 1800 onwards the modernisation initiated. Each of such great personalities had contributed for India creating milestones and footprints for us. The video covers nicely the backdrop and foreground.

There are two Indians whose contribution to the emancipation of women from the cruel clutches of the fundamentalists . Raja Ram Mohan Roy was the first lndian to save widows from the tyranny of Brahmanism/ Sanatana Dharma. The other is Swamy Dayanand Saraswati who strove hard for widow marriage . Later on , he was poisoned by fundamentalists. He was from Gujrat. His Satyarth Prakash is the best summary of the Vedas. It is surprising that BJP never mentioned his name. Narendra Modi is strangely mum over him . Thank you very much much for your illuminating introduction to one of the greatest reformers of lndia. U might have forgot to mention the name of celebrated and legendary reformer from Bengal, Pandit Iswarchandra Vidyasagar, who almost single handedly fought for legalising the widow marriage.Not only that, he was the first person to implement this law, by choosing a widow for his son for marriage.

Iswar Chandra Vidyasagar probably did it earlier. That period between 1772-1896. Birth of Ram Mohan Roy - Birth of Netaji Bose is known as the Indian Renaissance. When, all across the country great minds were springing up.

Ram Mohan Roy translated some of the Upanishads and Naya Shashtra and wrote a book The History of Indian Philosophy. He founded the Bramho Samaj to propagate true Hindu religion. He was the spirit behind the creation of the Presidency College for Arts and Science, Sanskrit College, Medical College and Engineering College in Calcutta. Hindu society was very corrupt in 18th and early 19th century. Ram Mohan Roy was interested to remove these practices and clean the Hindu society. He was not a British stooge, but he the lawyer for the Mughal Emperor Akbar II, who gave him the title Raja. Then he became the translator in the Supreme Court in Calcutta and one of the Judge. Ram Mohan Roy wrote a number of books to prove that Sati was not approved by our religion, it was just a corrupt social practice. Do not follow Rajiv Malhotra and Minaxi Jain. They are ignorant and evil people trying to prove that Caste System was invented by the British along with the Sati.

@@shameeshdalvi5709 triple is not as easy as u think.. if u go through the Quran u will see that there is a proper process of talaq.. first the husband has to say Talaq 3 times to his wife in front of few people & an islamic scholar (these people will act as witnesses) , then the Islamic scholar will give the couple 3 months time and ask them to live together under one roof.. after 3 months the same group of people will sit & if still the couple is willing to get divorced the they will sign on papers, their marriage will be called off..& also the Wife will be given the amount of 'Maher' (it is a thing that is decided at the time of nikah in case divorce happens Maher act as compensation) .. also if they ve children & children decide to stay with the mother than the living expenses is to be provided by the Father..

I'm a Bengali & belong from "Coochbehar" where Raja Ram Mohan Roy was the Maharaja. You guys must definately visit Coochbehar once your lifetime, it has still maintained it's British Look. You would be surprised after seeing the generous people there. And make sure to Visit the "Rajbari"(Palace of Coochbehar) where it's like a museum and park with the Memoirs of Raja Ram Mohan Roy. The place is a ture beauty. Proud to be a Bengali to have that fire in our Blood but it's really sad to see these days how we Gen Z Bengalis has turned so mediocre and we ourselves don't like our culture. Religion, country, language, science, artistry etc ko lekar discussion hota tha. Sabko chance milta tha apna view point rakhne ka. But aajkal social media aagaya hai to log usmein busy ho gaye, uske hatred mein fas gaye isliye intellectuality kam ho gaya. But still abhibhi debate, discussions hota hai but kam hota hai. But open discussions mein risk bohot hai aajkal 😁

That BENGAL RAJA was Nawab Sirajuddaulah and the East India Company resulted in the Battle of Plassey in 1757, where the British emerged victorious with the help of their Indian allies. Sirajuddaulah was captured and executed, and the British gained control over Bengal.

Absolutely! Great visionary Raja Ram Mohan Roy. Even Ishwar Chandra Vidyasagar, Swami Vivekandji and Dr. Babasaheb were very progressive during an era when it was a taboo even to touch upon, let alone reformation of, controversial issues.
