i dont know about Vinod khanna and Shashi Kapoor but Rajesh khanna definitely was biased against Rafi, Rafi had such hits for him and his voice suited Rajesh much more than Kishore.

Kishore Kumar was biggest fan of Rafi Sb. He hanged his picture in his house too. He always respected him like his guru and elder brother. Hence, there is no competition whatsoever in between them. It was the Rajesh Khanna who opted KK voice for him after Aradhana (Rafi Sb was not present in the India at that time after recording duet song which is also superhit). Rajesh Khanna then wanted KK to sing for him for all of his film. But, KK knew his limitations and he asked MD many times to get this song sang by Rafi Sb. This film song is a Kwaali Type which KK not attempted to sing often for high pitch. KK version is super hit and if Rafi Sb would have sung this song it would have been in different zone. Again in Hati Mera Sathi last song MD and film director told KK that this is the most important song of the film and he should sing it. After so many insistence by Rajesh Khanna and MD he did some rehearsal then he said he can not sing this song and can not justify with the deepness of the song. They must request Rafi Sb to sing when LP said for just 1 song how we can ask Rafi sb to sing this? KK said no.. you go to him and request to sing and he will sing it.... That how this song got recorded by Rafi Sb. It was the talk of the country when the film was released and people use to weep with this song at last few minutes of the film and use to come out with tears in their eyes.. That song made that film super hit.. In fact, Rafi was last hope for all MD when it comes to a very difficult songs in their movies..

Agar Kishor Kumar ki gayaki achchi hoti to safalta ke liye unhe 20 baras intezaar karna nahi padta aur Kaka ka stardom to sirf 3 saal me hi aisa simat gaya ki zindgibhar kamiyabi ke liye taraste rahe. It was observed in this later years of down fall he requested MD to get a song for him in his newer movies but sadly it was too late for Rajesh Khanna to realize that and Rafi Sb died in 1980 and hardly he could sang for Rajesh Khanna otherwise Rajesh Khanna could have more hit movies.. Rajesh Khanna got cornered when Rafi Sb given block busters hit songs for other heroes in late 70s including 70s heroes like Dharmendra, Jitendra and more..

Wrong. Listen to the those songs of Rafi Sb for RK and see how his voice suits him too. Because Rafi Sb had the ability to produce different vocal sound as per actors.. It is because RDB got the chance in absence of his father SDB and preferred KK. Also Rafi sb was not present at the time of recording he was in abroad after 1st 2 songs recording of Aradhana. You need to know KK was about leave Mumbai for Kolkata and RDB said to him just stay few more days for last try. However, there is no competition between Rafi Sb and KK as both had different style and vocal quality. Also RK had his rough days when KK songs could not help him to revive his career and he again was looking for Rafi Sb to sign for him after 1976 onward when Rafi Sb regained his crown till death. Probably you have less knowledge about Rafi Sb and his songs for RK. No one knew him in late 69 until he got a song from Rafi Sb "Akele hey chale aao jaaha ho" in his 1st hit film. It is believed that this song was sung by KK. But he was not satisfied nor were LP. Rajesh Khanna was willing to accept it as it was, but both KK and LP refused to budge. In the end RK had to bow.

Can't understand why Rajesh Khanna nursed grouse against Rafi Saab, whose songs for Rajesh Khanna's pre-Aradhana films were super duper hit that gave him recognition as an actor and paved way for his first super stardom. Without Rafi Saab Rajesh Khanna wouldn't have even become a star. Maybe success of Aradhana, which became a runaway success and made him the first Indian superstar; gone into his head and made him egoistic that caused him the same way downfall as his overnight success; in his later years

also remember even in aradhna, Rafi sahab had a hit song for him. Rajesh was just biased against Rafi sahab for whatever reason, he eventually had his downfall while Rafi sahab died at his peak. Rajesh Khanna was biased against M. Rafi big time. It was Karma that his stardom was short lived and he had a hard time giving up his throne to Amitabh. Amitabh was respectful towards Rafi sahab and he is still loved and respected even at this age of 80.
