I remember this game and that 3. To this day when I see this video and Rondo pulling up with no hesitation and the "Bang" I get goosebumps.

they probably could've beaten okc in the finals this year had they won g7 v. heat in ecf. in which case rondo probably would've been fmvp. a lot of "if's" though

g7 OR g6... remember Boston went up 3-2 gainst the heat... Lebron with 0 rings, with all the pressure, just obliterated us those two games. As a celtic fan I'll never forget that series. The shot that Pierce made over Lebron on game 5 to put us up 3-2, I thought that was it... but then Lebron took it away from us.

I'm a Celtic fan since 2006-2007, and this playoffs run was special. The title run was incredible, 2010 as well, but this one was like a Last Dance, KG did an incredible playoffs, reminded of Vintage KG at times, Rondo was at his Prime Prime Prime, Pierce was still clutch as f*ck this three pointer against LeBron in game 5 would have been remember since today if we have won the series. If you look at the stats of Rondo, you may say, it's poor compared to today's game, but man, it was back when defense was hard ! The 76ers were 8th seed but they were 3th in defensive rating ! The fact that he made a triple double in a game 7 against a team like this, with 11-4-3 in the fourth, against Jrue Holiday (a young Jrue Holiday but still a elite perimeter defender) is an impressive performance !

You are absolutely right. Danny Ainge made a huge mistake in not keeping Tony Allen in the 2010 offseason because that's when Lebron went to Miami. So you had Lebron and Wade on the same team and he lets go one of the best defensive players in the league for like a million dollars difference that Memphis offered him. Brilliant! What were you thinking Danny?? Then he traded Perkins 6 months later and as a result Miami went to the basket all day against the Celtics weakened defense in the 2011 playoffs. Also Wade did the dirty takedown of Rondo in that series. Also in the 2010 finals game 7 Doc let Tony Allen waste away on the bench (5 minutes playing time) while Ray Allen ran himself ragged covering Kobe (he did a good job on him) and as a result Ray went 3 for 14 shooting and they scored only 79 points! Doc what were you thinking??

Look at the defense the Celtics use to play. Even when they had poor shooting nights like this game, they made sure the other team would too. The damn score to start the 4th quarter is 57-54 that’s a average half time score in today’s league
