The first time I saw Ralph in concert was in 1981 in Sydney and he was great. I've seen him many times since then and he just gets better each time. Life experience enriches the experience of this wonderful storyteller. Keep going Ralph!

This , now THIS is a GENUINE Work of Art . forget Cows in Formaldehyde , Unmade Beds and all that phoney tosh that the rich & pompous buy into .... Real art you see , you hear , you feel , you sense . So ,every box ticked then : seen , heard , felt & sensed .

Ralph must have shoveled lots of money since 1967 for writing this song. Very well deserved, the song is still magic.🙂

London 1975, Los Angeles 1986, London 2023. Nothing has changed. It could happen to anyone, just one tragedy, one divorce, one broken family, one loss, one addiction. I'd like to live long enough to see real change. Great song.

It was for me, 1968, I was 14. Don't play much now but this song is still in my muscle memory, and the words are all still there. That is the mark of a true GREAT song. Thank you Ralph, you changed my life, you brought joy and tears. If it is possible I really feel love for this great songster.

One might say it's bit schmaltzy but if a song has survived for so many decades there must be more to it. And McTell sounds just like he did 50 years ago.
@fionagriffin5559 Жыл бұрын
It's a cliche, this is a timeless classic. And sadly, it will be probably as relevant in a century as it was the day Ealph McTell wrote it.

What relevance has that? He admitted himself he originally named "Streets of Paris". Location knows no boundary with homelessness.
