Went to the French Market, bought a suitcase, and filled it full of various spices, sauces, Cafe du Monde mixes and coffee, cookbooks, etc. Loved the muffuletta sandwich from the Italian food store. Loved New Orleans, especially the oysters

I’ve been to New Orleans Three times. Once in 2001, once in Feb 2005 during Mardi Gra and back again in October of 2005 in support of Katrina. Beautiful City. I love it there.

Debris is the part of the roast that falls off into the pan when making the roast. Everything changes. I used to get the sandwiches in the 1970's when I worked downtown and they had lots of filling in them. They had cracklins that you could pick on while waiting for your orders.

You just made my mornin! Mother's is my favorite poboy. I get the shrimp po boy. Acme shrimp po boys are good too! Also, Acme has really good smoked, blackened oysters. Have been to New Orleans 3 times, love it there and that part of town is super expensive but worth it once every couple years. Try an Elvis burger or Black and Blue at Yo Mama's Grill in the quarter on St. Peter street 😁 Thanks for this and love your channel!

Just subscribed!! I found Mothers when I stayed at the hotel across the street & LOVED it!! That bread pudding is scrumptious, some of the best I've ever had! I had their shrimp po'boy, it was really good & a few other dishes the different times I've been to NOLA, my fave city in the world!! Take care 💜💚💛⚜️

My wife had the softshell crab po boy. She said it was life changing.

My dad used to work a block away from Mother's when I was growing up(40 years ago) and about once a month he would go and get what was called a Ralph. It was a Ferdi with cheese. He'd eat half and bring me the other half home for dinner. It changed my life. It's sad to see what it's become. It was so much better, like many things, back in the day. I tell you where I get a Ferdi these days...Bear's at Gennarro's in Metairie. THAT reminds me of that childhood sandwich.

Went to Mother’s a few years back when visiting NOLA. Ate at Mother’s. Had the Ferdi Special. Excellent! You need to go to Port of Call. Best burger I ever had in my life! Baked potato, had 1 Monsoon! More than one I wouldn’t have been able to walk!

Stayed in a Hilton two blocks away during winter break. Really good food.
