Working on replacing the fuel level sensor on the 2017 Ram 1500. It failed and popped DTC P0463. We go through taking the fuel tank out of the Ram and actually testing the sensor itself. We also use AlfaOBD to engage the fuel pump to drain the tank before removal.

Great video! Thank you for the detail. Just finished with the notorious Ram front passenger side intermediary shaft and axle replacement and 3 days later my check eng light came on for this. Never ends. Thanks again.

It may sound like more work but; 6 bolts hold the bed on, you just need to tip the bed up in front 8-10 inches (use wood scraps to sit on), no need to disconnect anything except related to the assembly. !/2 the work!

You can do that on this truck because it has the 6'4" bed but you can't on a 5'7" bed because the pump sits under the cab

RAM needs a recall on these fuel pumps. Absolute garbage. Mine went at 27,000 miles!

I had a working fuel gauge just the p0463, Wiggled the harness underneath fixed it for now atleast.

I have been going around trying to figure out my problem. I have the code for the fuel pump sensor is broke. I replaced my pump and still have the code. I believe it is a ground problem because when I bought the truck full tank would read 3/4 then several months later the tank read half at full and finally died completely a few months ago. I'd really appreciate any help on how to fix it. My truck is a 2012 with the 32 gallon.

Ok watching these videos an I'm not sure if it's really my fuel pump now,I have a 5.7 Hemi Dodge Ram pickup it started to go work came back noticed the truck wasn't running so I tried to started it nothing it's cranking but don't start

Ty for the video my 2015 ram have the same code but my gauge still working.Check engine light lit up when gas is half empty!?

Mine was extremely intermittent. Gauge would come and go, sometimes fast enough I wouldn't notice anything other than the light.

Hello I got a 1999 Dodge ram 2500 4x4 I got a code p0462 low voltage sending unit I changed the sender and fuel pump still nothing I replace the cluster 2 still nothing I'm thinking it could be the timp fuse box or PCM ????

Did you check all the wiring and connectors?
