If a diesel is not straight piped from the turbo back, it does not sound good. I rest my case.

Update: muffle delete has been done to my 16 big horn, y pipe installed. I am very happy!!!! Thats for allowing me to hear the different tones, to make my decision.

If you add a glasspack resonator, would sound better than straight. Think of it as a sound filter, that gets rid of the frequencies you dont want and boosts the frequencies you do want.

Of course it has a back up beeper. Got every other ricer mod 😂

The muffler shop owner has to know the sound is absolutely no different behind the dpf. Don’t wast your money. Just buy a tip and put it on if you want a nice pipe. Unless you delete.

I know this is three years old, but I’m curious ? I have a 2011 3500 6.7. I am getting ready to replace my pipe from the muffler back. If I was to leave the muffler off like you did this truck and my two particulate filters remain, do I have to do any tuning to keep the engine engine running like it should. I’m not sure what the turbo back entails?

If the cat and dpf are in place it will never sound great they are the mufflers. The muffler is just a resonator it does little. I have an 18 flo pro resonator I might put on I haven't towed the mountains yet to see how that sounds but around town if the windows are up it's not that loud in cab . The only goofy thing is the sound of the un muffled VGT turbo when exhaust braking sometimes it sounds screechy. Start up and idle sound sick .
