Deep in the heart of Jakarta's slums lies an impenetrable safe house for the world's most dangerous killers and gangsters. Until now, the rundown apartment block has been considered untouchable. Cloaked under the cover of pre-dawn darkness and silence, an elite swat team is tasked with raiding the safe house in order to take down the notorious drug lord that runs it. But when a chance encounter with a spotter blows their cover and news of their assault reaches the drug lord, they find themselves stranded on the 6th floor with no way out. The Raid will always be my favorite action movie and John Wick as 2nd. The fights here is so gory and scary. It's like the main character can die anytime in the movie as John Wick, I just like how badass tge character is.

sorry for saying this, but IMO John Wick is nowhere near as good. KR is nothing like a martial artist and cinematography is also different. Storywise it could be seen as superior. But to each his own.

You forgot to mention The Raid 2, or perhaps you haven’t watched it yet. Sorry to say, John Wick looks like a “baby” movie compared to Raid 1 & 2.

@@strandedalien9462 I prefer physical pain, than making the gore with CGI. Lot of stuff was much more raw in first raid, than in NCFS. Raid looks so brutal and painful, cause Iko is making fatal injuries, not killing his opponents. It is also much more realistic, than spending the whole time with one guy when 30 are standing behind for some reason.

My favourite part of this scene was when the other gangsters came in from the elevator (the ones who searched the room) and were just staring in complete shock and disbelief at the dozens of bodies littering the hallway. It wasn’t even hard to see which room they went in they just had to follow the corpses lmao

I seen some dude make the joke about not being the last guy to fight Rama and now I can't stop anticipating seeing what he does to the last guy. Lol. Mans got his head slammed into the wall like 6 times. Not super brutal but still funny. I love how visceral these fights are. The choreography is beautiful but at the same time feels like something you could imagine happening. It's not so pretty that you know you're watching a movie. Every actor in this movie deserves credit for these action sequences. They are so intense and just a flat out joy to watch.

2:26 was so brutal when me and my brother first watched this movie. It was also the funniest scene in the movie for us, we both cried from all tha laughter after watching it and rewatching it a few times. It's so overkill which is what made it so funny to us. Like what is that dude thinking at the end? Gets head smashed into light, causing it to shatter and draw blood from his head OK OW that hurt I'm done he'll drop me right? Gets head smashed a 2nd time OWW, OK OK dude I'm done let me hit the floor... Get head smashed a 3rd time OWWW! REALLY!? I can't fight back leave me be Gets head smashed a 4th time WHY!? the screaming gives you adrenaline, so you can keep fighting even if you are tired, and not feel pain as much.

Pencak silat is a very powerful fighting style. As others have said, the screaming is to get more adrenaline pumping (as well as a psychological warfare thing... look and sound as much like a berserker as possible to freak enemies out), which will increase both pain tolerance and physical strength.
