I can truly sympathize. Even our dream jobs can become a grind from time to time. When I worked at Industrial Light & Magic I felt the same way. At times it was the best job in the world creating movie magic, and at other times it was tedious nerve-wracking frustration. This too shall pass. I know KZfaq is your livelihood, but don't be a slave to the algorithm or anyone's expectations. When yah need to take a break then yah need to take a break. Well all need a breather once in a while so breathe when necessary. Keeping you in my prayers. Blessings to you.

I work in the 3D industry too and I completely agree! It's amazing to create movies, but it doesn't always go well, and some projects are definitely harder than others! Taking some time off inbetween periods of stress is the best gift someone can give to himself!

Feel free to Google me. I assure you I am legit. My name is C. Andrew Nelson. I spent 4 years at Industrial Light & Magic as a compositor, rotoscoper, matte painter, and texture artist working on the Star Wars prequels, Galaxy Quest, Jurassic Park III, The Perfect Storm and other films. Before that I was at LucasArts Entertainment company for 6 years where I was a visual effects supervisor and senior artist working on many Star Wars & non-Star Wars games. After leaving ILM I ran the VFX Department at the Academy of Art University for several years before becoming a freelance visual effects supervisor & animation consultant for companies such as Disney, Fox, Nickelodeon, MTV, Electronic Arts, PBS, Hasbro Interactive and many others. I have also served multiple terms on the Board of Directors of the Visual Effects Society. Here on KZfaq I run a fish tank channel called Aquatasy because keeping tropical fish is the hobby that keeps me sane while working in the high pressure business of film, television, and games. By the way there is even a videos on my channel called "The Fish Awakens" that was shot in the lobby of Industrial Light & Magic. I did not bring up my career here in the comments in order to grandstand. I merely used an example from my own life in order to encourage Boogie because I greatly admire him. Now if after you have Googled my name, watched my Aquatasy channel videos, checked out my C. Andrew Nelson channel, looked me up on IMDb and Wikipedia, or visited my official website you still find yourself skeptical then there isn't much more that I can do for you. I would, however, respectfully request that you not hurl expletives and accusations at people you do not know simply because you doubt what they say. As stated, my original comment was one of empathy directed solely at Boogie in support of what he is going through, drawing a parallel from my own career purely to establish that I know firsthand the kind of pressure he is under as a creator. I'm not sure why you are so upset by that. I hope this clears things up for you.

+CustardGanet Well, it was a bit of a disappointment when we had the company screening for The Phantom Menace. Expectations were so high. I remember there being dead silence at the end of the screening with a collective feeling of, "Uh...is that it??" I had much lowered expectations working on Attack of the Clones. I also saw a lot more of that film ahead of time because I was working on multiple sequences, whereas with Episode 1 I worked mostly on the Gungan ground battle. So I had a much higher opinion of Ep2 due to my cautious expectations. By the time Revenge of the Sith rolled around I had already left ILM and dodged that bullet. I truly like George. I may not have agreed with all his decisions regarding plot & characters, however when it comes to visuals he knows his stuff. Working for him was like a master class in that sense. Soul-crushing would be all my ILM co-workers who were assigned to Wild Wild West. Incredible effects work, hideously awful movie.

+Aquatasy I was a kid when both came out in cinema (I was around 10-12 from memory) and I loved both x) Growing up I definitely saw the flaws but you and your coworkers should still be proud, kids loved their work :P Working with Lucas must have been such a great experience! I hope I get to work with people with such a vision in my artist career!

I know exactly what you mean. Over the past few years I have been through a lot of things, and in result I've gotten severe anxiety that makes it so I can't speak much or at all, as well as many other problems and health issues. The big reason all of this happening (or at least what I think is the reason) made me feel the way you do, like I died about 2-3 years ago and only my body remains. I feel nothing like myself, like it's just gone and never coming back. I am still trying to fight for a better future, but I can't seem to find much if anything positive about going on. I've just been run down so much that I feel there's nothing left but pain and emptiness. You have done so well with dealing with things and keeping your journey going, and I'm so proud of you. You are a true inspiration Boogie.

I love your dog! so cute! My own dog is a great comfort to me :) I hope you read this Boogie: Thank you for being so transparent and open. I can empathize with you, truly. We all go through hard winter seasons in our life. Sometimes if feels like months. Sometimes it takes years...but a new season does arrive and when it does it brings joy on that arising morning. Never lose the hope. I haven't. And thank you for sharing the hope you hold within yourself. The way I look at it, because I've had to deal with a lot of mental health issues and physical ones as well...is that there are all these weeds in life and they choke up all the good stuff sometimes and take up space for more potential growth and good. Sometimes you have to pull those weeds out to get the good stuff growing. It can be painful going through that change, getting molded and overcoming the trials of life...but a new season does arrive. One filled with peace, hope, and a good future. Sending you all the positive vibes and thoughts to you sir.

yeah i smoke pot off and on but theres a lot of people where weed isn't even enjoyable. Like sometimes when I smoke it just makes me all quiet and self conscious if I'm around people and also certain strains just make my heart pound and give me anxiety.. its like not even enjoyable lol. The opposite of euphoric basically. There is certain strains though that I actually like. And i know plenty of other people who get these same effects from it. Also I'm pretty sure weed is still illegal in the state boogie lives in I remember him talking about in another video he said doesn't really like the effects and plus its illegal there.. something like that.

Keep that in mind when you feel like quitting youtube. - you didnt die on the operating table. We are all still here. My guess is that the stress/anxiety is causing you to feel that way. - do you ever just say screw the algorithm? take me for who I am or not at all? upload the review damn it. If you cant enjoy the job at least a little bit it will just get worse and worse so you need to make this job more enjoyable for yourself. How might you be able to accomplish that?

I don't want to sound like a Troll, but Boogie hasn't done a hard day's work in his entire life. There was once a time when he created websites for people and did search engine optimisation (I don't know the jargon, but he made certain searches in search engines more likely to show up for a fee). But again, he did that in the comfort of his own bedroom, and it only substituted his income, as he has always relied on Government handouts along the way. But in a reality where today's tech doesn't exist, he never would have done that (therefor he'd of done nothing), as Boogie is too lazy to get a real job. P.S. Again, I hate to sound like a Troll, but Boogie literally does very little in terms of work (he has even admitted it himself, "without the Internet, without KZfaq I'd still be on disability" and it is really sad for him to have that belief about himself (he basically gave up work a long time ago).

As you probably have read many times, I find you very aspiring. Your emotional wisdom and overflowing compassion that you are able to convey, while still being authentic and so human, is just so wholesome. You send very important messages, like how help and support from friends or generally relationships is something to strive for, and not something weak. For better or worse, the things you have expierenced have made you WHO you are. And it gives me hope that I too can grow and learn with my problems, as serious or unserious they are. Thanks :) byeeeeeeee.

Going through a rough time myself. Your video reminded me of a quote from Viktor Frankl's book, Man's Search For Meaning: “To draw an analogy: a man's suffering is similar to the behavior of a gas. If a certain quantity of gas is pumped into an empty chamber, it will fill the chamber completely and evenly, no matter how big the chamber. Thus suffering completely fills the human soul and conscious mind, no matter whether the suffering is great or little. Therefore the "size" of human suffering is absolutely relative.” I don't think you need to qualify your expressions of pain in comparison to that of your audience. There is no comparison. Suffering is suffering. Good luck bud.

You're holding up well against the odds, buddy. I am happy to see how much you've managed to accomplish. I am 36, I've also been through a lot, panic disorder, fibromyalgia, I went from an active, good looking young man who worked out everyday and practised three martial arts to a sick guy who felt like an old man with so much pain that it was very difficult to move from my bed to the bathroom. I've gone through that suffering for a few years, then life changed again and I'm almost back to my regular life now, still feel some pain but it's bearable. Change is inevitable, losses and hardships too, but we can have the strength to adapt if we really put our hearts into it and keep optimistic and hopeful. I know it's easier said than done, I've been there, but trust me buddy, you're not living a nightmare. You are presenting yourself with the opportunity of change, of waking up living a new life and looking back through all the hardships and thinking to yourself: "How good it is to recognize how much I've grown as a human being, how much I've learned and got stronger through those daring times." It is amazing how much we are able to learn from suffering, through adversity and through our own weaknesses. One day you'll realize how much of a better man you've become, how much better you'll be to also be able to experience your life with someone who will also have grown to be so much better over her own bad experiences, only to be able to, from that moment on, share that positive energy and love. Sometimes we feel adrift and lost in what seems to be a wrong and never ending track that leads nowhere, only to find out that we've been there so we do not get lost again when we do find the right one.

Boogie I know this is cliche, but how your feeling in your current situation (what you've shared with us) is probably pretty darn normal. You've made some very drastic and life altering changes in rapid succession over the past 6 month, with what i'm sure is very little time to self reflect and process them. and this is super cliche...but if you stay on your current path and continue to see your therapist and seek support where you need it most, it will start to get better. I just want to thank you for sharing, cause even if you don't know or think it....when you share your feelings with your audience, there are hundreds, if not thousands of people that might be feeling similarly, and it lets them know....they're not alone in feeling how they do.

Keep doing everything you do Boogie, I think I can speak for everyone when I say that not having you in our lives would be a huge detriment. And as you said, even if you're not in the greatest state mentally right now (physically you're improving very well), everything's gonna be okay in the end. There's no doubt about that. So keep living life, and soon you'll be enjoying it like crazy. I can guarantee that.

P.S. Again, I hate to sound like a Troll, but Boogie literally does very little in terms of work (he has even admitted it himself, "without the Internet, without KZfaq I'd still be on disability" and it is really sad for him to have that belief about himself (he basically gave up work a long time ago).

just because he isn't doing manual labor doesn't mean he isn't working hard. very few people do manual labor jobs. ill bet you don't even do a manual labor job, and if I'm wrong, oh well. but don't try to say he hasn't worked hard to earn a gold play button, or worked hard to earn every single view, subscription, dollar and sponsor he has. its insulting the work he has done to get to this point.

The ending of the video legitimately made me crack up. In a metaphorical sense Boogie you are right though, a PART of you died in the table. I'm a perfect example. My life changing event was when I had to leave a whole WORLD behind (friends, family, way of life etc.) when I moved countries... But I was awake during MY "operation" of a life changing event - I distinctly remember that horrible, depressing and painful feeling of something [A PART OF ME] *crushing* inside me and dying, one certain morning of my reminiscing my past life... to which I am ever so nostalgic to this very day... I actually died TWICE in my lifetime so far... What's left of me.........

I'm glad you can talk these things out. So many big changes for you and the end of a relationship is like a bereavement. Give it time, it will get easier. That feeling that your life is not real - I had that for years because of depression. I remember my 'real' life feeling more vivid, more present, but things are hazier through the fog of depression. If it continues to feel that way for you, please do speak to a doctor not just your therapist, because it could be screwy seratonin levels or something? Especially with your anxiety kicking off more. Sending you good vibes.

I really don't think it's the behavior of a manipulative egomaniac. On youtube, he's restricted by the terms of service creators have to abide by, so he has to censor himself to a certain degree. Also, pretty much everybody has a professional demeanor that's different from how they act outside of work. I think you're being too quick to make assumptions.

Change is scary, its terrifying to me. I have a great fear of what the future holds. I can relate to thinking I died and this is the dream. I tried killing myself almost 20 years ago and I still think, what if this isn't real? I would say for you, you didn't die on that table, not exactly. An old part of you died and a new you was born. You have another chance at a new life and it's scary. I'm honestly rambling and idk if I'm getting my point across, but just know that people love you and that you're never alone.

I believe the feeling of a "dream state" that you're describing is disassociation. this is common for people with PTSD or those undergoing multiple new and stressful situations. I have felt that same feeling for years and I always thought I was crazy until I mentioned it to my sister one day and she was the only one in my life that could relate to it and described to me what it was. I kind of think of it as a way of the brain to cope with what is going on by "taking you out" of the situation mentally. I don't necessarily think of it as a bad thing, but it is an extremely strange feeling for sure. nonetheless, disassociation is 110% understandable with all of the immense changes that you have endured recently, and no, you did not die on that operating table haha. anyways, just some food for thought that may help you a little I hope. much love

Maybe he means that his old self died. So his old personality or subpersonality, dependent on food and what not, died. It is not necessarily a bad thing, it happens to people all the time. Sometimes it is more severe than others. Sometimes you just have to do one thing differently, and sometimes you're cracked open like a nut and can't move on. You will need to get to know yourself again and probably shed a lot of things you identified with. That's what he said as well, he's in his biggest free fall. So that is what I think he means with dieing.
