Richard has been at the forefront of digital media and marketing since 2005, with over five billion affiliated views and millions of subscribers and followers to his brands. His shift in focus went from traditional media to digital when he started a software company to facilitate the needs of content creators with the development of an iOS. Since then, he has worked with Google, the KZfaq Product Team, 20th Century Fox, Paramount, Universal and other companies in the entertainment and video game industries. Richard also consulted for a multitude of advertising agencies with creative strategies, analytics, and the optimization of content and marketing initiatives. In 2016, he helped launch Verizon and Hearst Media Partners' digital media brand "Rated Red" as an Executive Producer. Verizon and Hearst Media Partners focused on various types of content and collaborations within it brands like Complex. VHMP worked with brands like Ford on product initiatives like the F150, Ford Focus, Ford Raptor, Ford GT, Dodge, Ram, SEMA, LA auto show, Nissan and other car, truck, automobile, side by side, atv and motorcycle manufacturers.
During that time Richard and his fellow co-founders at www.blackriflecoffee.com saw growth in the e-commerce coffee company to the point where it required their full time attention. He resigned from Complex Networks to focus on the coffee company in the fall of 2017. The coffee company's social channels provide entertainment, inspiration and education. Everything from how to make cold brew, how to make coffee via a chemex, diy drink recipes, diy food recipes and more. There is a focus on humor, comedy and sketch comedy based content around the brand to compliment and contrast with the serious themes and types of content from their charity work to telling the stories of the coffee company's employees to those who have or currently still do serve their country and community.
Richard still enjoys creating content in the outdoor and adventure world. He is an avid wingsuit pilot and skydiver. He enjoys getting up into the mountains hiking, snow skiing, riding snow machines, fishing or anything to get him out from in front of a computer in the office. It's the little things in life... I believe Rambo's explosive arrow tips would be triggered by an impact on a detonator or percussion cap in the tip of the charge. His arrows would probably have been C4 or Semtex, which can be triggered by a blasting cap rigged up to detonate on impact, much like how an artillery shell is safe to handle without the fuze screwed into the tip of the shell.

Not really. if you have a exploding arrow, you shouldnt be close period. I think the advantage of using a exploding arrow is the curve. You will be able to hit far targets without even being seen and they wouldn't know where it was coming from. with enough explosives and enough marksmen, you wouldnt even have to worry about hitting the targets directly. It would just be raining hell down from the heavens. With that type of advantage you wouldn't have to worry about a arrow flying back at you. It would seem suitable to use that on anti vehicles or destroying machinery. Otherwise it would probably be cheaper and just as effective to use a arrow.

Why a pressure tip detonation? An inertial detonator is much more safe and reliable, while allowing for greater penetration before detonation, as well as the use of wider range of explosives. Theoretically, you could fill the entire shaft with explosive, too, but that could potentially reduce the actual damaging effects. Blowing stuff up with arrows is still cool though.

You could use a deacceleration trigger. Basically a heavy firing pin in the back, on impact inertia slams it in the primer. Can't go off at launch no matter how hard, as the force goes in the back of the casing, away from the sensitive part.

When I was a kid we would fill the shaft with gun powder and use Percussion Caps (use to reload shells) under the broadhead threaded shafts. When it struck a hard surface the cap would ignite the powder in the shaft and BOOM. Sometimes you had to drill out a small hole in the bottom where the arrow head screwed in to let the spark reach the powder.

I actually owned the Hoyt "Ram-bow" from the movie. (not used in the movie, just the officially licensed one put out that year). Wish I still had it. In the book, Morrell says that the arrows were loaded with a length of C-4 that had been rolled out narrow enough to drop in the shaft. The arrowhead only had a small charge that ignited the C-4. (Yes, I read the book also, I was a big fan of the movie)

@joeyisamazing1091
@joeyisamazing1091 4 жыл бұрын
Wayne Sligar carbon arrows are not safer that aluminum. Carbon can be really good cuz u have a lot of options for light weight arrows and very accurate arrows but if a carbon arrow gets damaged at all it is likely that it will break when you release your next shot with that arrow and if it breaks on release the shattered carbon fiber can go through your arm that is holding the bow. You can check it out if u just google broken arrow goes through arm or something like that

It just can not be done. Both mi-28 and mi-24/35 are protected from 23/20 mm HEi single hits and in some vital points from 30 mm he and 20 mm ap. In afghan war mi 24 often tanked not only HMG and autocannon hits but stinger aa missiles direct hits and was able to return to base after. Even rpg rocket in some cases was insufficient to bring down russian gunships. And mujaheedi are best rpg users in the world and such hits happened not once or twice. Probability of hitting mi-24 even with m-203 grenade is low. Chance to kill chopper with it is close to 0. m-203 launcher send its projectile much faster than bow, and grenade itself carry more HE. Said arrowhead grenades may have some potential against civilian transport and personnel, not too high

You did a much better job on your first round of design then I did when comes to making an arrow that isn't trying to return fire. The strange thing was before I figured out how to keep the arrow from flying back in my direction, it almost seemed not to matter if I was shooting straight at a target or simply shooting it up at an angle... the arrow seemed to want to find its way back to the starting point. Great video. I'm thinking that your fiberglass arrow is helping to absorb much of the return trip energy. Mine wasn't fiberglass ;-) But I did finally get the arrow to drop at the target.
