Murdock scrubbed the mission because Rambo was simply supposed to go in, take some pictures of empty cages, and go home. When Rambo actually brought back someone, it messed up everything because now the CIA would have to answer the government and citizens about why US soldiers were abandoned in Vietnam and the Agency didn't do anything to rescue them for 10 years.

James Cameron wrote this screenplay. Julia Nickson, the female lead, didn't speak anything but English and a little Singaporean, so she felt she butchered the Vietnamese accent because there was no dialect coach for the movie.

I do like that each Rambo movie is attached to a real life problem in war. The first film was about the treatment of soldiers coming from the war, the second about American POWS and the problems that exist with that, the third film is about the bond between generations of people of the middle east and living under rulership and the bond between soldiers, the fourth film is about a violent oppression and civil war and those who risk their lives those people, the last film is about the tragic fight for human trafficking.

I love this movie so much, from the very first time i watched it in Theatres!! The scene you pointed out where he is covered in mud camouflaged right behind the Russian soldier blew my mind first time i saw it. The scene i love the most is where he is mourning Ko at the mudpile, and then gets up with that vengeful rage in his eyes, always gives me chills! Thanks for watching this, I hope you will continue your journey with the Rambo series.

I first noticed it from Canadian professor Jordan Peterson. After that, I began noticing it from a lot more Canadians. I'm curious if this is common among all Canadians or if it's more regional. Does anyone know? I'm not surprised to hear South Africans using it as well, but this is the first I've heard about it. To be fair, I don't know of many South Africans. Elon Musk? Charlize Theron? Not sure who else.

@@GetFitwithDogs Charlize Theron pretty much changed her accent to American so I don't think she talks like this, but I'm sure she did. Basically everyone I know sometimes use the word "hey" after a sentence, it's very common around here. Even when non-english people speak in english they will use it. It bothered me at some stage and I stopped doing it, and was surprized when I heard canadians also do it.

Out of all of the Rambo movies, I think this is my favorite. It is the Rambo movie that I saw most when I was a kid, and I think it is the most emotional out of all of them. The moment when he first sees the POW's just gets me every time. And losing his female companion shortly after agreeing to take her with him is just tragic. On the action end of things, we finally get to see what he is capable of, unlike the first film, where he was a little more restrained fighting against civilian law enforcement.

OK, finished the reaction video. Two things: 1. This is a Top 2 Reaction Channel, and this channel is seriously underrated. Dasha comes across as genuine, likeable, funny, and she's attractive. I watch enough of these Channels to feel confident in saying that 90k subscribers is way too small of an audience for this Channel. 2. This channel's audience should grow by sharing it and word of mouth. On that note, there are some other underrated Reaction Channels that should be better known as well. Has anyone seen CinePhiles React or React 2.0? It's small town villagers from the India/Pakistan region. Most of their reactions you'll need subtitles for, but it's a fascinating channel for reactions. I love seeing the Cultural differences of perspectives for these movies. Worth checking out. If you know of any other lesser known channels that are great, please share.

@GetFitwithDogs 3 ай бұрын
I personally don't think it has anything to do with that. I think you'd be surprised, very few Westerners have issues with the Russian people. More people will catch on and subscribe as time goes, I'm sure. A collaboration with another well known reactor would go a long way. One with Cassie from PiB would be best, as I think they have largely the same audience. Both have a more wholesome and innocent image, although Cassie's Channel has very little or no cuss words. Cinebinge may work too. Both PiB and Cinebinge already did a collab video reaction for Hachi, so they may be up for it. Who knows. This Channel may not be in any hurry either. 19:17 I caught that! "Come on, come on! Давайте, давайте!" 20:34 That drum that got dropped contained napalm. Highly flammable and very sticky. It was used widely in Viet Nam by American air forces to clear foliage and also to clear an area of enemy personnel. If you ever watch "Platoon" with Charlie Sheen and Willem Dafoe, there's a dcene toward the end of the film where a soldier passing the word along the perimeter refers to the air force laying "snake and nape", meaning they're napalming an area in an undulating pattern, like a snake, to cover more area. 21:00 Русский медвед 🐻

The explosion is about 3-5 times larger than that cannister should have produced, though Russians do always try outclassing our bombs. Napalm wasn't supposed to be used on people, but it was unfortunately. It was good were good for causing fires that could not be put out, like you said. I was EOD. I can't stand seeing explosions in movies. They're always wrong. Napalm, at its centers, should look like a massive sparkler and should burn white all the way through its energy surplus since it is white phosphorus by late 1970s instead of thermite.

The mission was aborted because it was based on bad intelligence. Rambo was supposed to find empty camp, take pictures of nothing and go back empty handed, with a perfect excuse to say "we found nothing", but he found prisoners that they were moving from camp to camp that Murdock was not expecting to be there, so when he realized there was evidence, he tried to cancel the whole thing. If the intelligence had been correct, Rambo would have been sent to an empty camp.

Most book-to-movie adaptations would be better off more closely following the source material, but I am not convinced that is the case here. This adaptation was a project that had been passed around and toyed with for many years and was considered a nearly dead project. Stallone got a hold of the script and made some changes which led to this becoming a cultural phenomenon which has been producing sequels for 40 years. Hard to argue with what Sly managed to turn a forgotten adaptation into.

@@GetFitwithDogs I was specific refering to the second book. I think it was written after the first movie wad made. The movie is following the main plot points pretty well. There is a part missing where they massacre a village. Byt there is a lot of detailed that was change. One very small detail that is really insignificant but really anoys me is that in the book, the shaft of the arrow contain the explosive and the front is just the detonator. The arrow as in the movie would be almost impossible to shoot.

That's interesting, because in the novel First Blood, John Rambo dies. If the author made a sequel, it sounds like he made it as a result of the popularity of the movies. That's interesting. I wonder if there are any other examples of a author doing something similar, such as resurrecting a dead character for sequels due to movie success? Some might call that, "selling out". I don't really care personally. It's fascinating. Looking it up, it appears the author released a book sequel AFTER the movie sequel. This is a first for me.

Good Cold War 80s movie. The third one is decent and the next one titled Rambo is very good. That one is a bit realistic in many ways. You'll see. You said something about not recognizing the Russian uniform. This is Soviet Russia, but then again maybe the filming people got that wrong. The Russian HIND, helicopter at the end is a awesome piece of Soviet machinery, I'll give our former nemesis that. That thing is like a flying tank. I especially like following along when you watch movies that have Russians in it, to see what we got right.

That is not actually what the Mil Mi-24 Hind looks like. This movie as well as a few others like Red Dawn use a modified French Aérospatiale SA 330 Puma to portray the Hind. Notably, they added wings to the Puma to make it look like Hind. The actual Hind is used in the video game Grand Theft Auto V where it is called the Savage.

I don't think you ever watched First Blood. Because the way your reacting to it is totally off the message it was trying to send. The first movie is set in the Pacific northwest more specifically Oregon and Washington State though it was shot in Vancouver British Columbia. It was more about how our U.S. Veitnam vets were treated really badly when they came back home from Vietnam. Literally treated like they were less than human. Ramboo breaks down at the end of the movie telling a story of how one of his Green Beret team was blown up by a kid with a shoe shine box. The first movie is simply First Blood not Rambo. They were spit on called baby killers when the Vietcong would literally strap a grenade to a toddler and send them walking out into a group of American soldiers and blow them all up. Among other things they did to them. I do reccamend you watch it. But the last 10 to 15 minutes of the movie is very emotional.

the metal wire is called 'Barbed Wire' and has a primary function of keeping out large animals. It also serves as a fence, a common practice is to electrify the wire fence as well as having barbs in it. And of course Rambo will live, he needs to make Rambo 3.

In the 80's "accounted for Vietnam War POWs" genre, you should watch "Uncommon Valor" (1983) starring Gene Hackman, Fred Ward and Patrick Swayze.

My 16th birthday, high school let out for the summer at noon, nobody expected me back home for four more hours, I actually had money in my pocket for a change, and on the way home what do I see on a movie marquee board for a matinee? If you want to try skydiving Dasha, they have indoor skydiving places. You go into a upright windtunnel with a safety net and get to experience and practice the floating/flying feeling. Also: "What kind of uniforms are these?" The movie was made when the Cold War was on so they had to fake up lot of Soviet equipment because they couldn't get the real stuff. The camo suits they wear are Australian Navy with Russian-looking patches. The "Hind" helicopter (The Soviets called it a 'Krokodile') is a French Aerospatiale "Puma" altered to look Russian, and the Spetnaz guns were all from Egypt.
