I lived in Rutland for about 12 years and there are some great roads and lanes to ride. Unfortunately I had to move because of work commitments. After all these years, I still miss the place.

I've ridden this great road as it's not too far from me and forms a nice loop if you ride up to Melton from Oundle through the Welland Valley, fantastic view of the viaduct stretching across the valley up the other side towards Uppingham then either go through Oakham or skirt around it to Melton then back down the B6047. Some great roads to ride in this and surrounding area. Your bikes are either cousins or almost identical or non-identical twins. Must be great riding them out as a pair. You had perfect weather for it. That biker who over took you was a complete idiot. If it were my footage I'd be forwarding it to the local plod. Crossing double whites is a big no-no. I think it might even result in an instant ban. They certainly need to take their bike test again which could prove very inconvenient.

What was it Redford Baron said he liked the sound of (near the end of the video)? I couldn't make it out. Was it the pipes on the bikes? I think Triumph have much improved the standard pipes on the current models; I have a 2023 Speedmaster Chrome and it sounds gorgeous! Lovely crackles on the over-run, and glorious when it gets the beans. How they got them through Euro 5 I just don't know! That biker who passed you and was in front for a long time looked to be a bit of a nutter - overtaking on double whites etc. I once did some computer consultancy at Pedigree Petfoods in Melton Mowbray many decades ago. I have to say I was none too impressed with the their local delicacy pork pie - I reckon my local bakery does 'em better! (Weinholts, Alderley Edge). But pies are not on the menu for me right now as I've been losing weight for a knee op. 633 squadron is good, but 'The Battle of Britain' is the daddy! Nice vid. Thanks!
