12:39 There's more to that, a deeper meaning: Kinro means "Golden Wolf", so he got a golden spear. Ginro means "Silver Wolf", that's why he wanted a silver one. The names of the remaining characters also have meanings, in case you didn't notice it yet, and everyone in the village is named after some sort of a (gem)stone or mineral. Kohaku is amber, an her sister Ruri is lapis lazuli.

Also, Momotarou is an old folk tale about this old couple who find a little boy in a peach (“momo” = peach, and -tarou is a common male ending to a name) and he grows up and goes on adventures to fight demons. I think he gets 3 animal companions along the way.

A dog, a pheasant, and a monkey, I believe. This story, like Journey to the West, is used a LOT in Japanese fiction. For example, Avataro Sentai Donbrothers based the initial team members off of the four, with the Yellow Donbrother being based on the oni they fought (and being a girl, Oni Sister).

Man, I love all the characters from this manga so much but Chrome is probably one of my favourites. So goofy yet super smart for someone from this world of stone. Also, Suika is super cute.

I love how this show loves and appreciates every member of it's cast. It's part of its optimism that every person has a purpose and the potential to be useful. Chrome is a great example, yes they make the joke that Senku knows so much more than him, but they constantly hype up his ingenuity and skills as a gatherer. Also they do eventually explain why Suika wears a melon rind... It leads into a scene that made me cry so hard.

Re-watching these eps is fun. I’m thankful right now, because I just had a nasty bout of strep throat. Went from being in so much pain I could barely eat or drink to feeling fine in a few days because of basic penicillin. You don’t think about how good things are until you need them. Like, even how peoples lives are saved every day because of Epi-pens or asthma inhalers or glucose monitors. Really freaking amazing.

Spoilers for later in the season: Yeah, the glasses episode fucking broke me. I had bad eyesight since middle school, without glasses everything was a blur if it was more than a foot or two away, I had to find my glasses by touch if I misplaced them. A few years ago when I got Lasik and now my vision is good enough that I don't need glasses. So imagining not having any of that technology, having to squint and feeling like a burden, then seeing Suika look upon the flower field for the first time with clear eyes. God damn I'm actually crying just recalling the scene to type this. It was so beautiful. I love this fucking show so much.

I think you guys missed a joke, when he defeated chrome and aquired the shed the writing said "shed of science AND Chrome acquired!!" So Chrome is now Senku's property xD

5:24 essentially they must have a banishing system and a policy to not let outsiders in just in case they have a situation or a trend of sorts in which they banish enough people to create another community, a community that would grow recently that has always seemed to me like a failsafe they came up with and for the writer, it's a tool that opens the door to maybe having more stone world native people and like play with differentiation in societal development and culture or something or if they don't wanna do that they can just have that be some sort of failsafe that has been there since the tribe was a tribe but that there hasn't been a case where more tribes formed

I don't know if it's true or not but I think the creator of Dr. Stone was a doujin artist so the character design have that appeal in it. Can't blame you though.

yea its true but they mentioned it at the strart of the video, they know. Btw boiichi is the artist for dr. Stone not the creator, after hentai created other manga that are much darker than Dr. stone like Sun Ken Rock

or tasted so b--ITS CHROME TIME YES YES EYS WHAT HOMEWORK 20 P READING 1:10 just realized [Bon Bon] already explained their names, but yeah-- if you have trouble with "Kohaku" like some people, "Amber" is lil alternative 1:23 pfft just sounded like he's aro ace or maybe just one of em 2:00 lol -- _maybe_ but Kohaku's first line on her silhouetted shot is " _three_ " -- in English. And i can say also that when she introduces the number of able-bodied villagers she says "forty" and Senku echoes "yonjuunin" (4:38) (5:44 2-on-1) 4:20 the Lioness part 11:48 lol yeah; Ginro could'a been the amateur entomologist until the " oh, _bugs_ " hit;; then again me too, but I stopped looking under the garden stones lining the yard when there was a spider on the _underside_ i.e. THERE WAS A SPIDER LESS THAN 6 COLLECTIVE INCHES FROM MY HAND *cough* so no more accidentally killing pillbugs because I couldn't reorient them fast enough. Dragonflies are chill tho 13:00 the cackle, and both times here and in the future where Senku goes "tch" -- love those 15:10 I just reali-- is that the robot who was traveling through countries and died while in the US 16:40 yeah-- just long-term coughing and palliative hot baths
