Sameera Mahalekame Not necessarily. It depends what part of Egypt (and if they originated from another country/kingdom that was absorbed), and the time period. Later Egyptians could possibly have some Greek, or other large colonizing empires, heritage - like Cleopatra. It’s not so cut and dry in terms of the Egyptian people when their culture and history is so lengthy.

Bro, his Arabic is poor sorry to say. This is not his fault. It's his parents fault for not taking him to Arabic school once a week while he was growing up. I wonder if he ever visited his parents country Masr (yearly or every other year) while growing up to meet his relatives and practice Arabic ? I doubt it. As he said, he sounded like a 10 year old kid. Just being honest.
@gandalf8216 Жыл бұрын
@@spidyman8853 Arabic is similar to french is the sense that it has this HUGE potential for nuances and analogy-making. English is also good at that, but doesn't go as far as many of the more "mono-cultured" languages. My mother language is Swedish, but it's like duplo in comparison to English's lego, or French's or Arabic's Mechano. I only know a little bit Arabic, and similar to Swedish where inflection is a huge aspect of it, Arabic has its way with Islamic metaphors and how things are perceived, e.g a flower's radiance can be used as an emphasis point/superlative adjective. But I wouldn't use Arabic to describe a scientific process/method, or to document how to use a software library. I would use it to describe a sequence of events, if I owned greater mastery over it. However, on the floor of a factory or while supervising mates while doing a complex task, I would use Swedish because it derives most meaning from context and circumstances, meaning most things said were not said. That's why a factory worker in Sweden can know what to do from a simple "du, höj dendära lite" which takes half a second to say in a mumbled shout and everyone knows what you mean anyway.

@@79098985T8900 i think so too, to make it simple, Rami was speaking in Egyptian Arabic... Which is the Arabic language but with a dialect that is used only in Egypt. I'm Egyptian and I think Rami did pretty well. The reporter tho, he was talking in the original Arabic language that most of the Arabs know, but don't use, it's used professionally in interviews, news podcasts, political speeches, books etc. He wasn't doing it to be mean, it's just his job + Rami was probably informed earlier and given time to understand the question and answer 😍

@violetrose4154 жыл бұрын
@@-nadine-3509 Nadine Zakarya Let me clarify it :D (And let me clarify that I am not a linguistic, it is just my opinion as an Egyptian Arabic speaker :) ) Arabic spelling requires much more heavy pressing on the words and letters when pronouncing it because it is a heavy language, unlike English and European tongues. That's why people who aren't originally Arabic speakers will pronounce the letters lightly and give like a watered down version of the pronounciation of the words. Because he is raised by Egyptian parents but lived all his life surrounded by English, his pronounciation isn't strong, but it is better than most people speaking Arabic as a second language (or are Arabs born and raised in foreign land).

I’m Egyptian, and I was born in Las Angeles, CA a year and a half before Rami Malek. This was a time when many Egyptians immigrated to the United States and started families. My family decided to leave Las Angeles for Cairo in 1990, just shy of my 11th birthday. I definitely identify with Rami in this area, and I feel his pain! The interviewer is actually conducting a proper Arabic interview. Typically, the interviewer will give a brief run down of his work, including a synopsis of what his main projects were, and then get into the question. To anyone listening, it may appear that the interviewer is talking too much, but that is the ‘standard format’ for Egyptian interviews. We speak the North African dialect of Arabic. I have to give Rami credit for sitting for such an interview. Wonderful fellow, and proud that he is one of my countrymen! 😊

I’m a big fan of Freddie Mercury since I was a teen and he would’ve been so proud. I knew him from Twilight, I liked the character but I didn’t really paid attention to him since he got only a small part. And now I don’t know if I’m in love with him or with Elliot 😁 Mr Robot is amazing. ( about to start S2 ) Hats off to him , he’s out of this world. As an Egyptian and as general fan hearing Rami malek speak in Arabic is probably one of the best things ever!!!😅😅😅😅 Plus props to him for understanding the interviewers Arabic cuz it's a very different dialect to Egyptian, hell full Egyptians who lived in Egypt their entire lives struggle in understanding it🤣

He did not speak Standard Arabic like the announcer. He spoke the Egyptian language, the language of the street. There is a big difference between the Standard Arabic language and the dialects.
@tripleahafez65132 жыл бұрын
@@HAIDYJUNIOR the street?😂😂😂 it’s just a different dialect bro, fyi the announcer also wasn’t speaking what you call standard, it’s proper arabic btw, and no one actually speaks it, literally all arab countries have different dialects some more similar to each other than others, some closer to the proper one, but no country actually speaks it they all have their own dialects which is simply a variation of that
@506Naz Жыл бұрын
@@HAIDYJUNIOR “he spoke the Egyptian language” ……right so arabic?
