Rammstein released the song Halleluja back then, when the discussion about the baby photo on the cover of the mother album reached its peak and the Catholic and Protestant churches had to give their disparaging opinion about it. A better answer could not be given at that time.

This is not their only song with this kind of topic. Actually, I am patiently waiting for my favourite Rammstein song in last few years, which no one recommends, including me, but I am not doing it because I am waiting for a good quality live performance of it to get on KZfaq. The song is "Zeig Dich". Remember that title, because I am quite sure you will love it. I just cannot get enough of that song. And if you wish to react to it now, please do the studio version of it with lyrics. 🖤

@@briantingley7316 Well, I guess that "a good quality live video" is very different term for you and me. I think I have seen every single available video on KZfaq but to me none of them is even close to decent. I mean, they are good for me, since I already know the song and watching those videos is the only way for me to see Rammstein live, but I would never advise someone who has never heard the song to watch it.

The Catholic Church was insulting Rammstein at the time, they were being blamed for the Columbine shootings, etc etc and so Rammstein wrote this as a response, to make the Chuch reflect on their own sins before casting stones. Not my fave song of theirs but an important message indeed

At the time, churches also spoke negatively about the dead baby (for over 100 years) on the cover of the Mother album. Here is an excerpt from the inflammatory newspaper "BILD-Zeitung". "Rudolf Hammerschmidt of the Catholic Bishops' Conference ("Tasteless! How can you put unborn life on display like that?") and Thomas Krüger of the Evangelicals ("Any undignified portrayal of dead people is rejected by us") give the "outraged" dignitaries."

Rammstien represent the root to the hearts of men and through Christ the bridge to God. The church should be careful not to condemn Rammstien as their contribution to music as a vehicle for healing the German soul and preventing prejudice from others. The track record of the church only uses the Bible to cement prejudice and discrimination. Rock on Till. To produce such music is a vital and noble cause at a time of reactionary forces written by bigots some centuries after Christ. I'm a Christian who does not believe that rape, murder and capitalism is not civilised and is morally corrupt. God does not ordain war and is not the author of the Bible or any literary work which was written by man. Christ led by example and not social media or other edifices of ignorance and alpha men.

And here rammstein again uses their extremely high range to draw attention to a topic that is so lovingly hushed up. Of course, they do this in their own incomparable way. That it will not be forgotten.

As a Christian, I was really hurt by this song when I was younger. The "he is a true Christian" was hard to accept. But after 10+ years I've gained some perspective and I'm happy this song was created.

Being a christian myself, and even a pastor nowadays, I was never offended by this song. Child abuse does happen in Churches, be it Catholic or Protestant. The "true Christian" line I have always understood as being sarcastic.

Really enjoy your reactions as the songs play out Rammstein have no boundaries which for me is what makes them the best band in the world ... everything is very tight with them wether it's album production, video production which let's face it is generally better than most movies and live they're untouchable.They are the Beatles of hard rock/ industrial metal...thanks for your keen sensibility on your reactions!! Hello. good reaction. It was one of the most anticipated by me. For me it is in my top 5 of the best Rammstein songs. I'm a Rammstein fan and this live version sounds better to me than the one on the album (Great album by the way). Song censored in many countries for its content. But, it couldn't be hidden 🤷🏻. The abuse of the church, the priests against children is already quite well known. Now there is another song called Zeid dich that I recommend you listen to.

This song is not dark. It is enlightening in view of all the priests, bishops and cardinals around the world standing accused of child buggery and all other sorts of sexual abuse. Thanks Rammstein for nailing it once more!
