This guy is clueless as a marshaler. First, you don’t give the “taxi straight ahead” when the aircraft is parallel to the terminal and second, you don’t have to turn the aircraft onto the centerline.

Yes you do. He was letting the pilot know which gate to pull to. This was a text book way to marshal a plane in

Airplane! The Movie - Tarmac misdirection this is it but the movie taxi signs look wrong in movie its a striking down i seen taxi here as up down as shown here or a come signal w arms bent
