Imagine being such a good guitarist that Ramsey doesn’t even take a solo on this song? “Yeah, Henry’s got this.” He sure does. 🔥

I just found this in may 2024. I knew it was going to be amazing when the drummer hit the cymbals with his hands 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤

Henry Johnson absolutely kills it with that funky solo.

I played a small chitlin circuit type of club in the mid 70s where my band opened up for Jack McDuff. His guitarist was the great Henry Johnson. It was unforgettable.

Yea that actually is a nice guitar solo. Improvised melody from Ramsey was well put together as well. Shows he really knows it. Bass and drums I give' m an A++++. Creative in the pocket so don't knock it! But back to the guitar. I can tell the action of the guitar is well set up. It has a nice balance with 12 gauge nickel wound maybe 13 gauge played with a light medium pick which gives flexibility and fluidity over the strings. coming out of the board facilitates his playing more, having the power to be heard clearly. He 's got all the George Benson stops which every jazz guitarist must have. He put them in the right place and in his own way. My man!

I thought that Henry Johnson is a Jazz guitarist because of the axe he has, and something about the way he plays, but I read he played multiple styles until hearing Wes Montgomery had a major influence on him.
