I have that tri-fuel portable generator that I bought in case of a hurricane in Southeast Texas. I have used it during the Texas Freeze a few years ago and occasional outages. I have natural gas for my cooktop, water heater, furnace & dryer. I run the generator on natural gas and it powers most of the house through the electric panel. As a backup, I have two 1408Wh and two 666Wh power stations, and eight 100W rigid solar panels which I made into four suitcases to set up in the back yard. I installed emergency lights that come on when power goes out. They are where I set up the generator, at the electrical panel and in the main hall of the house. I can also run the generator on propane along with my portable griddle

The weld looked about right for the ranch to me! I have some iffy welds out there at my ranch right now, so it's just par for the course.

If I buy another generator, it would be tri fuel. The good thing about the propane, it won't gum up and its exhaust will be a bit less stinky. How big a circle are you building around your fire pit? If 20' diameter and 4 inches thick, it should take only about 4 yards of concrete. Of course the finish work costs. Good luck with those projects.
