I’ve BEEN CHALLENGED!!!! 😱 by my friend ‪@RoseRequinCrafts‬ ⁠⁠and it sounds crazy but I truly was VERY intimidated by her challenge! Letting a webpage choose colors for me sounded like a nightmare; so that is why it took me over two months to gather the courage to reply: “challenge accepted Rose”!
I hope you like my version of the challenge because I did change the rules a little bit!
And now that I’m on the other side I will echo Rose in challenging more of our friends! So⁠⁠⁠ ⁠‪@SoCraftastic‬ ‪@ChantelleArts‬ ‪@lozantoninocreations‬ and ⁠‪@TheCassieProjects‬ what do you guys say? Joining?

Paula, you are braver than you think, and yes, chocolate is sometimes a must! I enjoy watching you paint and hearing you talk about the good and the bad of the process. You are helping so many others give their own creativity a chance. I feel like I am finally willing to do art for personal enjoyment. It is like reconnecting with a long lost friend. What a cute project. That bear with its froggy hat is the cutest! Doing those offset outlines made it look like your art, so thats a win I think! Thank you for showing that art can be frustrating too. And that everything can be painted over. I sometimes struggle with finishing a project when I hit a frustration wall and maybe next time I can think about your approach and carry on!

Maybe try stepping away for a chocolate break before you get so frustrated? I know you usually try to push through, and that's admirable, but with casual arts & crafts (as opposed to your professional art), I'd say fun is more important than a schedule. Just a suggestion =) Anyway, it turned out cute! I've painted a couple little wooden drawer units, but never added clay into the mix--what a fun idea! =)

Turned out really cute! I liked it a bit better before you added the final lighter colors. But you made it your own so it doesn't matter if i like it. The bear was adorable and the extra color just made his face pop. Nice job!🎉❤

Love the bear its so cute. Also happy you made the change with the lighter colors to give it a you touch that made it complete . Mira byler would be doing great with this challenge for sure. An i saw aussie crafters version wich is a nice one to.

Your clay bear us so cute and i love it eith thr box. I have been planning on doing this challenge. I actually have similar ideas and was also considering picking the colours first and then using clay. I bought a kids clay set with 80 colours last year and I've been looking for a project and though this one might be perfect. I'm still not sure yet though. I actually love that You, Rose and Ashleigh have all done this challenge and yet hsve all had your own spin on it. ❤ Editing now as I see Di has also done it. Im watching her video now.

Oh Loz I’m sure you’ll rock it! What you could do is draw the colors from the generator and if you have them in clay use them and if you don’t you can use paint in that color… that would be fun!!!

I actually liked the pond idea. You could almost make a series of animals trying to be other animals. Of course a bear with a frog hat would go to the pond. I do like the outlines in the end. It fits the bear better somehow. I guess more whimsical.

I love your little frog bear. I'm partial to bears and my favorite part is his little heart patch. His face turned out well even with staining you can try some rubbing alcohol to remove the fingerprints and smudges and smooth put the clay. I would love to try this but its another challenge i think I'd have a hard time with cuz i too have a hard time not having control over my art.

I’m in Quito yes! Actually about a couple of months back there were some problems with the water reserves that we use for electricity; so what happened was there were scheduled power outages to conserve energy until the pants were up and running correctly again. So we knew when we were going to have a block of hours without electricity. Definitely a pain to work around of, but at the same time gave me perspective of all the blessings I have including having power all the time! Thank you so much for your concern!! ❤️❤️❤️ makes me feel special 🥰

I know you were not 100% convinced by your design but it looks so cute ! I love the bear, he looks so friendly. The problem of color smudging with clay is why I prefer painting clay once it's dry, rather than using colored clay. Adding a painting phase makes the process longer, but it also makes the sculpting part more forgiving since you only have to care about shapes. Now the question is : what will you put inside the box ?

Thank you so much! Yeah I definitely agree! It’s “safer” to paint everything at the end ☺️ lesson learnt! I thought maybe the clay would look less “fluffy” somehow! And I’ve put Washi tape in there! The cute ones I don’t know if I wanna ever use lol
