I don't usually do this after an upload, but I cut out a part where I said it runs the same online. GTA Online with these specs will likely be a far worse experience, so stick to single player with these ancient components :)

RandomGaminginHD , hello friend. Would you help me with a question: Will capping a game to 24fps make things easier for my hardware? I am an aspiring filmmaker and actually loved Wolfenstein (don't remember which)'s option to cap it at 24fps, just because I love film so much. I did actually buy the blue Radeon PRO WX2100 recently, for work sure, but hey...and I worry about putting it to too much stress (in case this could make it malfunction on the long run). Capping story-driven games at 24 could... help with both?

enthusasist who always has the newest and best GPU: there's a monster hiding under the bed :( on a serious note, I wasn't aware gta5 had this and a Q6600 as the min sys reqs. that's insane. then again, a i5-760/GTX660 combo could play this game at 1080p @ 50-60fps on medium settings. I think the main bottleneck was the 2GB of VRAM, I think i could have turned a few (more) settings to high if it had more VRAM and it would still have run at the aforementioned fps. hell, the 660 is even listed under the recommended specs.

GTA V is still an absolute marvel of optimisation, and finally someone said it 3:45. Although i will say that GTA Online when you're in excess of 16 Players can definitely have its fair share of quirks, as IIRC the netcode really struggles, leading to not just server side issues, but some strange clientside quirks. Shame that the AMD Side struggles a lot more today (Not so much CPU Wise) But GPU Wise, as the Terascale Drivers for the game are abysmal, as Terascale never got GTA V Optimisations.

RDR 2 isn't poorly optimized, not when you consider that unlike GTA 5, where PS4 and X1 run at the high preset, consoles run RDR2 with settings BELOW the "low" preset on PC. RDR 2 also scales a lot better with hardware. Putting grass on high in GTA 5 has insane impacts on performance for not *that* much gain in graphical detail, whereas RDR2 if you choose your settings right looks and runs a LOT better than GTA 5 on those higher settings In GTA 5's case GTA Online performance is also a lot worse because of the increased CPU usage, the just unoptimized nature of how the DLCs work, and the amount of chaos happening at all times, with at this point a hundred different additional things loaded on top of the original game, all the jackasses with Oppressor Mk IIs, and that kinda thing

yeah if you set shadowquality=0 under the INI file it turns off shadows, you can also set the base resolution to 640x480 in the INI as well. then, if you really want to, you can go advanced settings and set resolution scale to 0.5... so you have 0.5 of 480p (240p) no shadows... may take 20 years off your eyesight but can run on old components... like hd3450 old.

well i tried to get it to run on my nephew laptop amd a8-7410 8gb ram i upgraded it to 10gb ram windows 10 and igpu Radeon R5 Graphics 1tb hdd running on driectx 10 everything low and 1360x768 scaled to 680x384 he gets 25fps to 50fps stays around 25-35fps time it can get to 50fps is sometimes indoors or if he looks down at the ground only problem is sometimes if hes in a car speeding down the road for like a second or half a second there some textures have to load in the laptop is using an old driver people say newer driver should be much better but if he install any newer drivers that don't use the old and catalyst control center the mouse seems to be laging or stutter every 2/3 seconds and games also stutter or glitch bad did google this problem and seems other people have it too but i could not find a fix :(

Something weird I noticed when I used to play GTA 5 on the Xbox One was that the Online portion of the game ran like complete garbage with random stutters out of nowhere while single player worked just fine. I’m not sure if this also applies to PC since my PCs that can actually run the game respectably are more powerful than this, but it’s just something I noticed.

You should check out the casino in this hardware. Online is already more demanding than single player, but the casino specifically for some reason isn't very well optimized. My wife used to have an i7 2600k/GTX 1060 and 16gb of ram, and couldn't get any higher than like 40-45fps in the main area of the casino no matter what I did to the settings. It was just CPU bottlenecked.

Well good to know that the exact pc that is sitting over there in the corner of my room that I built for my son ages ago (upgraded the cpu as it was sent to me for free) can still run this I guess. As for it not looking good I think it looks really nice. To each his own. Also as for apologizing for it being a short video well I think honestly with some content I watch and watched in the past getting longer I have watched less of it or no longer watch it. I wish videos of the tech type at max get to 20 minutes.

Gonna test GTX 670? Nice, I'm running that in my 2nd pc (for when friend comes over or so, my older parts pretty much) with an i5-3470 and 12GB memory. Runs warzone decent enough for some fun (maybe not hyper competitive) play at 1080.

The fact this game is still one of the best looking games, and can run 30 fps on some of the oldest hardware is incredible.

I have an AMD 2700X, GTX 1070, and 32GB of RAM and I experience a lot of drops from 60 to 30 when I go near vegetation. I do have pretty much everything maxed out and a lot of games do tend to start running rather poorly when you do that but I didn't expect this game to be one of them.

HD 7870 and 270X are sister-cards with 2GB VRAM. They can run GTA V at 1080p and low-medium settings while keeping 60 FPS.

GTA V story mode hasn't had any actual content added to it, so I'd hope that it still performs the same. GTA Online would be interesting to see on this setup, though it probably wouldn't go well with all the bloat.

"If you have these components lying around you've just got an urge to play GTA 5." I love imagining that scenario. You're desperate to play GTA 5, you HAVE to play it. But you don't have a console, you don't have a PC already assembled. The ONLY way you can play GTA 5 is by assembling those random, decade-old parts you've got laying around. I feel like by the time you've built and set-up that PC, the urge to play would have gone.

Remember playing GTA Online for the first time on PS4 and thinking there was some sort of issue since it was running at 30fps instead of the normal 60 in singleplayer...

I played GTA for nearly 4 years, also competetive in onlinemode with a Phenom II X6 1090T at 4 GHz with a Radeon HD 6950@6970 bios until 2017. It was mostly capable of 60 fps, but i had to decide between 60fps and lowered draw distance (a cancer when sniping in online mode), or better draw distance but sometimes around 30-35 fps minimums. At least it was playable with my 2010/2011 rig. Then i got a i5 4430+H87 board for free, damn even with the HD6970 the performance was SO MUCH BETTER. After a while i decided to get rid of my heat exchanger and jet turbine HD 6970 and got a GTX 1060 i sent back after one day because the GTX 1070 was some kind of a "more futureproof" option, especially since i searched for used i7s 4th gen already and even the 4430 handled the 1060 very easy. This rig, a 4790k @4,8 GHz and a GTX 1070 will be my system until DDR5 is released :) In my opinion, its pretty impressive how such an old system still performs awesome, except probably i would wish already more graphics power. Probably a low to mid end RTX 3000 if the prices are very cheap, but i think i still can stick to my allmighty 1070

Plays fine with a dual core cpu (A6- 7400k), though with some caveat. The Caveat being part of the map being turn to mud or texture popping in and out of existence (mostly the map that goes in and out). with 8 gb of ram 800 x 600 (no gpu, lowest setting): 20-40 fps (with the 20 only being the driving in the city). parried it with a r9 280x that i had laying around that i wasn't using. at 1080p (3/4 scaling, still low but with some stuff up from normal): 30-50 fps (with only 30 fps when driving a fast car or causing mayhem). The default setting set everything to almost max setting (no scaling) though with the dual core couldn't keep up which did hinder the frames: 20-30 fps at 1080p. Only dip lower than 20 fps just to load thing in and out (like texture, multiple explosion, driving a really fast car) This is the lowest end pc i have.

I still play GTA 5 with my PS3. A 2006 console hardware that plays a 2013 game ... The PS3 was seven years old when GTA 5 hit the market, and the console works with 512Mb of ram.

Ha I had these identical specs from 2008 till about 2011 or very early 2012, mostly as both the gpu and cpu ran crazy hot even on idle and a lot of noise.

GTA V was optimised quite well as compared to GTA IV. My 2010 MacBook Pro with 16 GB RAM and a mere Intel core i5 and Nvidia GeForce GT330M with 256 MB VRAM ran GTA V at 20 FPS at 720p medium graphics which I considered playable while GTA IV got no more than 25 FPS at minimum graphics at 720p.
