In his prime, Randy Moss was the fastest and most dynamic player ever. He will certainly make the HOF someday, and hopefully it is first ballot. Thanks for all the memories Moss!

It's incredible how one human being could possess so many athletic gifts -- tall (6'4), 4.25 (40) speed, 36 inch vertical and soft hands. I suppose many say that Rice is the GOAT of NFL WRs, largely because of his stats, but Moss is without question the most gifted WR in NFL history.

Facts no wr was and will be so far has deadly and have the height speed hands leap etc has moss and come has a rookie and makes HoF wr look like joke . Rice a legend but he is nowhere near moss talent. The work ethic yes talent not even close. Rice got rings because he had the perfect team multiple time. How many records or ring would moss have if he went to Patriots after Minnesota it wouldn’t even be a debate. We got a taste of moss and Brady and Jesus it was scary so scary that they couldn’t lose except in a fluke play by manning . Now imagine 8-9 years with Brady. Rice had young , Montana and ppl and the whole fucking team of course he will have rings 🤣😂🤦‍♂️

I find it hilarious that some ok some people actually downgrade Randy Moss. In my humble opinion Moss is so underrated. Think for a minute, the two highest scoring offenses in league history features Randy Moss. Then consider the fact that unlike Jerry Rice who had a stable core of hall fame QB in Montana and Young and a very good Rich Gannon. Moss list of quarterbacks are nomads of the NFL until Brady, Culpepper was decent then Jeff George Bubby Brister Brad Johnson Spergon Wynn and If Randall Cunningham who was selling marble flooring in vegas the year before. Can you imagine if for just 10 years Brady and even maybe Culpepper threw to Moss, this guy would more than likely have 200 TD for his career and maybe a super bowl or two. Look the facts are he was not only the fastest freakishly athletic great hand wide receiver, Randy Moss intelligence on the football are matched by few. He is a student of the game. And contrary to bias media reports the man worked hard at his craft.

Justin Jefferson has lots of talent and some of the explosiveness but Randy... Damn that dude was on another level. And he was scrutinized so much when he was here, over weed, walking off the field, saying he plays when he wants etc. But that man was a baller who just handled his business. Randy Moss was the closest thing to having Usain Bolt of the NFL in terms of speed and having such great stride length. Not to derail this but it's insane to think how fast that guy would be on a football field, talk was Bolt's 100 time translates to a sub 4 second 40 yard dash, meaning he would absolutely SMOKE Moss, who's one of the fastest to ever play in the NFL.
@footba11fan41ife
@footba11fan41ife 7 жыл бұрын
3ternal bolt said it himself he's never ran faster than a 4.3 40. U can't count a 40 yard split from a race with starting blocks on a track surface. Bolt doesn't become the fastest man in the world until 60m in

@jareddonaldson8222 7 жыл бұрын
3ternal that's the thing tho, in a 100m or 40yrd dash, you're required to use a 4point and 3 point start respectively, but as a receiver, it's a standing start, which is very advantageous for tall guys like them. the 40 yard dash does these guys no favors tbh

The thing is with good route running you can burn WRs without the need for blazing speed. As Xaver had said, once Moss lost his explosiveness he couldn't fall back on his route running like Rice did when he got older. It's kinda similar to an athletic guard in the NBA whose game revolves around athleticism.
@movieguy992
@movieguy992 7 жыл бұрын
Why is route running such a complicated skill that some guys can't master it? I'm always hearing so and so can't run routes well. Is it so complicated to run straight ahead turn around and catch the ball or run a slant? Is there something I'm missing? Are they bad route runners because they don't learn the playbook so they are running the wrong route?
@Wheelio
@Wheelio 7 жыл бұрын
There's so much more that goes into route running than I think you realize. It's also about timing, reading zones, fighting through press coverage, etc etc. Rice had godlike longevity because he mastered all of it even after he lost his athleticism.

Cole Slaw Wrong. There is no measurement to use to make Moss better. Modern NFL gloves = stickum. That's just a fact. Stickum and gloves don't run routes (neither did Randy). Stickum and gloves don't run YAC. 1000% of NFL experts, analysts, and players other than Randy Moss agree with my statements.

Chad, Don you're hilarious... Not everyone will agree with you don't be full of shit... It was OUTLAWED in the 80's and rice jokingly said that he used it. I mean he did but he just wanted to make it as a joke so people wouldn't think he actually used it. Sure, it didn't helped his greatness but he still used it regardless... Therefore, cheating. Moss is the GOAT WR in my book. Rice benefited with the talent around him esp. playing with the 2nd greatest QB in the NFL history. Unfortunately for Moss, he only got to play with the GOAT QB for only 2 1/2 years.

Its very clear that Moss was the best WR of all time. What's confusing is when I say it to other people, they give me strange looks and immediately say "he's not Jerry Rice" Rice is amazing, sure, but watch this video. Moss is inhuman in some of these catches. And he's ridiculously fast. He also had cornerbacks and safetys confused on every play. Plus he's 6'-4". Brady+Moss is an example of what Moss could have been his entire career. Rice had Joe fucking Montana, Steve Young, and Rich Gannon, 3 hall of famers, all miles better than all of Moss' QB's except Brady. Moss is the best, case closed. And now it's all about Odell Beckham. Please, the guy is a shit stain on Moss' jockstrap
@xaviervega468
@xaviervega468 7 жыл бұрын
LOL the only way Rich Gannon is making the Hall of Fame is if he buys a ticket. Steve Young is in the HOF BECAUSE of Jerry Rice. Only Montana was on his way to the hall before even meeting Jerry. What case does Moss have? Numbers? Nope, . Playoff performance? Don't make me laugh. It took 16 games for Moss to beat a record Rice set in only 12. All the Moss people say "he was tall , fast, and jumped high" All that and $5 dollars will get you a brand new bus pass. If raw athletic talent is the only criteria Bo Jackson is the greatest NFL player that ever lived, and we know that's nonsense. Despite not having Moss's athletic gifts, he was a better route runner than Moss, read the zone much better than Moss, and was a better YAC receiver than Moss. (The NFL started tracking YAC BECAUSE of Jerry Rice.) The ONLY thing Moss did better than Rice as a receiver is catch the deep ball. THAT IS IT. Every other aspect of the position Rice was better. Plain and simple, Moss was the better athlete, Rice was the better football player.

Rich Gannon is not a Hall of Famer you idiot lol... Joe Montana was a great QB one of the best ever, but he did not have a cannon of an arm... Moss never showed up when it mattered... Rice did... Rice owns pretty much every record out there... It's not even close...

If you go back and watch film of Randy when he was on the Vikings, the opposing defenses would consistently line a safety up 20-25 yards deep from the line of scrimmage. They were literally saying, screw run support, our entire game plan is to use our free safety to prevent Randy from getting open deep. What's funny though is that Randy STILL beat them deep. I can guarantee you nobody was ever that afraid of Jerry Rice.
