Orton's more fair than Vince deserves, but I get it, it wouldn't do any good to trash him in an interview unless you wanted some internet brownie points which are meaningless. But we have seen the downsides of Vince's leadership at all times. Remember that Kurt Angle left in 2006 due to burnout and working through injuries, RVD left in 2007 due mostly to burnout and he even has said that he would have resigned if they didn't keep bugging him on when he would come back. And in RVD's case, he was someone who complained about the schedule since 2001 when he entered WWE, and he contemplated quitting by December 2001, which meant he hated the schedule so much that he was willing to quit within less than a year. Apparently, the only reason he stayed was because his then wife, now ex-wife, convinced him to stay. He has stated this in interviews.

Wrestlers have lives too. They have families too. They deserve to spend holidays, birthdays, and other special occasions with their families. It's not fair that they have to sacrifice that just to perform for the fans. And it seems that Vince could care less about that. He seemed to choose making revenue over the welfare of his talent and you need to have a balance of that. His removal was long overdue.

People like Vince are necessary when you're in the 70's and 80's when there's a million different promotions or the 90's during the Monday Night Wars, but once the WWE was solidified as THE wrestling promotion in not only the US but the World, and especially 2010 onward after TNA fell apart, there's no reason to keep grinding our talent down. You've already won! Experimentation, creativity and longevity should be the new priorities, something Hunter understands.

Bret Hart loosely talked about this attitude of Vince in his Wrestling with Shadows documentary and more so in his book, when he broke his sternum during a match at a taped Toronto house show. He took a couple weeks off being told that he'd be taken care of financially but the checks weren't all that great, so after two weeks he was back in the ring working his full schedule for the rest of '89 until a strange blessing allowed him a few weeks off going into 1990.

Interesting one. I don't think 40 years of management can be summed up in a couple of minutes and different people will have different takes on Vince, of course. Maven's take on his channel was quite balanced: he describes Vince's hard, business-only approach but also mentions that Vince called him personally to offer his condolences when his mother passed away. On the other hand, I agree there appeared to be things that were done soley out of spite. Way before the Rusev and Lana storyline, they made Chris Kanyon dress in drag and sing Boy George before he had come out as gay, there's no way that served any purpose other than embarrassing the guy who was already in poor mental health. I guess it's important for people to share their memories, wrestling fans in particular seem to feed on that, but at some point we just need to move on.

Is it really hard to comprehend that Vince only cares about money over any person? He's just like any other billionaire he sees any person as his commodity, if it breaks or if it's no more of use, the commodity gets disposed off. Take a look at what transpired at Over The Edge 1999 PPV. Owen Hart died tragically but Vince went ahead with the PPV. What if the same thing happened to Shane or Stephanie would he have continued that PPV? Frankly WWE from 2008 - late 2019 was an utter disaster except for few bright spots. He became completely detached from reality. From golden touch to the senile who belongs in retirement home. As the fate had it or karma, he got forced out because of the allegations.

@@happydays9613 I wasn't talking about Vince. You mentioned that not stopping the show means not having and heart and money being all what one would care about. So I was trying to explain that it isn't that black and white, there are other grey options that could explain someone not ending the show. I didn't say going on with the show would be the right thing to do either. It is a very hard choice to make, and many things have to be considered in your decision when you are put on the spot.
