Back in mid-December 2019, as part of my "4th Quarter 2019" Food Challenge Tour, I traveled from Louisville, Kentucky to Eau Claire, Wisconsin for an ice cream challenge, and then to the Minneapolis / St Paul Twin Cities area of Minnesota for more food challenges. For challenge event #1, I went to QC Pizza in Mahtomedi, MN which is northeast of St Paul. "QC" stands for Quad Cities because Dennis the owner and his team specializes in making Quad City style pizzas which are so delicious!! Their most famous pizza is their "Kind of a Big Dill" Pickle Pizza which has gone viral a few times and has been featured by a few different big media outlets. For this challenge you must finish a 16" diameter Big Dill Pizza along with 2 more 12" diameter smaller pizzas - their Sausage Pizza and their Jalapeno Popper Pizza which has a cream cheese base and is drizzled with a raspberry sauce. There was a 1 hour time limit to finish in front of a packed crowd of amazing people!! Thanks so much to Dennis the owner and his staff for the wonderful pizza and hospitality, and thanks to all the people who came up to watch and meet me that December evening!! QC Pizza's Big Dill Pickle Pizza Challenge Quad City Style ($60):
QC Pizza in Mahtomedi, Minnesota specializes in Quad City style pizzas and they've become famous on the internet for their "Kind of a Big Dill" Pizza which has been featured by some very major news outlets. At the center of this challenge is a 16" diameter Big Dill Pizza with lots of pickles and Canadian bacon that has been smoked for around 48 hours. There are also 2 more 12" diameter pizzas that must be finished. There is a simple sausage pizza plus one of their Jalapeno Popper pizzas which has cream cheese as the base and is drizzled with a raspberry sauce. Challengers have 1 hour to finish their meal that weighs over 7 pounds total. Winners receive the meal free, a sweet t-shirt, and spot on QC Pizza's Wall of Fame!!

Typically the more crust, the tougher the challenge. That is a reason I lost that 6 pizza challenge in Iowa. So much crust!!

For the record, I live in Minnesota and have had QC pizza many times including multiple Big Dills. That pizza is amazing, it's really about the Canadian bacon honestly, lot of pickles but it goes really well together. Congrats Randy!

I just moved back to the west side of the cities about 6 months ago. Brought my friend a Kinda a Big Dill, Curd O'Roni and one of thier current specials "Philly cheese steak". He never really came out to Pauly but man I miss a lot of the cool things I wondered onto (Minneapolis native but spent a decade in STP).Skinners pizza takes the cake imho . I only learned about that joint after Red Savoys off 7th closed.

I thought the same but I tried one the other day. I couldn't stop eating it seriously.. Those pickles are housemade not some store jarred deal.. they put fresh dill and that Canadian bacon is smoked for 2 day's.

Pizza place near me has pickle pizza. I thought it sounded absolutley revolting. But I tried it. I gotta tell you. It was so damn good!! Keep it up Randy!

Poorly worded by me, not different types but made differentlt. Our toppings are twice the thickness (won't let me add a photo) can't beat a bbq chicken or a meatlover.

California takes top place for worst pizza. Pretty sure Minnesota is at least top 5 worst pizza

pickles on pizza reminds me of some type of "cheeseburger pizza" !! I'm kinda amazed the timer got up there for 3 pizza's ! but least you got the challenge finished

Yes.. I agree. And cheeseburger pizza was more common when I was in Minnesota than any other place I've lived. Much more common.
