@@lifeasusual I'm slowly working towards opening my own garage some day that deals with all makes and models and offers services from valets, Mots to full on car modifications such as custom body kits, interiors, tuned engines etc. I wanna cater to all people as I care about people having access to someone who believes in high quality work and honesty with someone they can trust. Quality that doesn't fail to be delivered whether your driving a Peugeot or a Bugatti 💯💯💯 Currently trying to gain a level 3 qualification, gain more knowledge from courses, online and also gain experience in garages too 💯💯

I would jack it vice versa, i.e. from the footprint of the slope. In this configuration, there is a chance of slide, while the other configuration, provides more pressure on jack stands, but you can assure it, by leaving there wooden or concrete bricks.

Hi Jan, thank you for your comment, and welcome to the channel 😊. Yes, that works too, I have tried from the other side as well, just as you suggested. You will see this on a new video that will be released next week Friday at 3pm UK time. 😊 In the meantime, a new video will be released today at 3 pm UK time, and it's to do with the injectors. I hope everyone is looking forward to it. 😊 We are super excited to release more videos and help more people.

Great video, thank you. Did you need to reset or recalibrate any of the hight sensors etc? I’ve heard that the L322 needs a door leaving open when you Jack it up?
@lifeasusual
@lifeasusual Жыл бұрын
Hi Ben, welcome to our channel! 😁 As long we follow the steps from the manual, there is no need to reset or recalibrate the height sensors. You are right; some people believe that they have to keep a door open while jacking up the car, but this is a misconception, and it's also dangerous because the system is designed to be put into the jacking mode, then the sensors will work with the operator to help to jack the car, but when they leave the door open, they will disable this feature from working. But if you can imagine - after the car is already up in the air and the height sensors were disabled by keeping the door open, then the operator or someone working with the operator closes the door accidentally, then the height sensors activate while perhaps someone is already operating under the car, that could change the geometry of the vehicle, and tip it off-balance. So it is always better to work with the vehicle, not against it, and to follow the manual for the best safety. When jacking up any vehicle, it is always best to keep doors closed. I understand some people would like not to use the jacking up mode when jacking up the car; then they can remove the suspension fuse, which is a much safer way. Or if they struggle with doing that, they can simply disconnect the battery, but I understand some jobs require the battery to be connected, so removing the fuse would be the go-to if there is a reasonable explanation why they would prefer to disable the system and stop the vehicle from helping them jack up the car. I know it's a long answer, but I think it's worth it. 😊 I hope you managed to read it all and not fall asleep from my boring reply 😴 haha😄

@@lifeasusual thank you very much for taking the time to reply to me. Your advice was excellent as I had the confidence then to Jack the car up correctly. It was no real drama, it was also beneficial to pump the bags up rather than be sat at the same height. Thank you very much again, will look forward to more videos.

Hey! My driveway is very slightly slope. Maybe like 2-3 degree. It is nearly flat but slightly. So I’ll be doing the brake job on rear wheel and probably will do front wheels for to bleed brake fluid. The vehicle is forward in front of the garage door. So will this works safely? I bought two new rubbers wheel chocks as well. By the way, you got a nice looking Land Rover!
@lifeasusual
@lifeasusual 11 ай бұрын
Hi Treeck, welcome to our channel! 😊 Perfect, we have been doing videos about the brakes lately, so make sure to check them out! 👍🏻 You should be okay with raising the car, but make sure to use the chocks. If you could get hold of steel chocks, that would be better, but rubber should be okay. For more tips and tricks on how to raise your car, we have made a full playlist to help with jacking up the car. This is the link for it: kzfaq.info/sun/PLrcJFwySU4nQ2hlCcAMvivm_B-LtG1FwJ Thank you, we love our Land Rover! ❤️ Which car will you be working on? 😊

Any idea how steep the slope of your driveway is? I have a slope thats 8 degrees which equals 1:7 gradient or 14% and I’m unsure of how safe it would be, thanks
@lifeasusual
@lifeasusual Жыл бұрын
Hi Sean, welcome to our channel! 😁 Firstly, we would like to apologise for not getting back to you for the past 4 days. We usually reply within 24 hours. However, with your question, I had to go back to our raw footage as we have a scene in which we took the slope measurements of our driveway, but we didn't include it in the final cut. So that's why it took us longer to get back to you. Based on the data we have collected and the complexity of our driveway slope, our driveway has multiple slope gradients from numerous angles, as it's not a straightforward slope. Part of our driveway has an 8 degrees slope, and the other part is 10 degrees, so from the sounds of it, we have a similar slope to yours. I hope this answers your question. If you're still unsure, don't worry, there is another video about the slope and how to raise the car safely that is currently in the making, which we hope will be ready for release this Friday or next Friday. 😊

Are you pointing to the rear diff as a jacking point.? Not sure that’s correct tbh
@lifeasusual
@lifeasusual Жыл бұрын
Hi Rob, welcome to our channel! 😊 No, I'm not pointing at the rear differential, I know the video does not show how to lift the car from the rear properly and that's on us, we should have explained better. The jacking point for the rear of the car is located on the rear axle between the two exhaust pipes. We will do our best to see if we can re-do the video, showing how to raise the car from the rear, from a better angle. 👍🏻 Thanks for pointing it our and we will do better next time!
