Bought this jack+stand based on your video. But I bought the unijack which has more height adjustment than the older model. You might be able to ask powerbuilt to sell you the jack arm to the updated version so you wont have to use two jacks and possibly even the wood block if your wheels clear it.

You always put out awesome videos. I also have an FJ 40 and there’s not many videos out there showing how to change and fill the transmission fluid and replace the transmission pan gasket. Would you be able to also show how to fill the transfer case fluid thank you so much

Yes! Imagine the wheel falling over and catching your toes! Even if it’s rubber it’s gonna fuckin hurt! Those wheels must weigh 50-55lbs each

Shame they did not take a Citroen approach. Raise the car on the suspension setting, place axle stand underneath and then lower suspension. This lifts the wheel with the stand under off the ground. Jacking the air sprung landies always a PITA. Instead they decided to put electric retractable tow bar... Besides the entertainment value just crap and they fail.

@@samrodian919 useful features vs failure prone useless. Personal opinion. The special land rover receiver that you had to buy for Lr3 etc was over $700 and seized up over time, even with maintenance. It was not durable. They have now gone one step further and made it electrically deployable. Based on reviews it is not reliable. Why not just have simple 2" receiver like Cadillac and Toyota etc. Im sure some people like the gimmicks, but, a lot of people don't like LR reliability and LR lose sales because of it. I love my LR3 but some things are very annoying. The tow hitch being one of them. I'm on my second expensive LR receiver already.

Wheel nuts are distorted because of the impact wrench use. In the technical data is states not to use impact tools with theses type of nuts. Some fords use this type also just a bar & socket & torque wrench when installing is all you need here.

@ FierceFix, you are wrong about the reason for the bulging of the nut. The cover is not plastic as stated in the video but stainless steel (and I'm talking about OEM here) the main body of the bolt (it's not a nut) is some form of higher grade steel than mild and water gets between the bolt and the stainless cover and corrodes the bolt resulting in rust formation. This rusting forces the stainless steel outer to bulge resulting in difficulty fitting the correct size socket. I use a battery impact socket wrench and carry in the box it lives in a 23 mm socket which is 1 mm larger than the standard bolt size ( obviously 22 mm) thereby solving the problem. I've only had my Range Rover for 5 months but changed the bolts for a new set as I had about ten bolts that were swollen. But before that I had to use a 23 for those wheel bolts.

Ok samrodian ! 5 month, been on vehicles for 25 years plus! Keep using the impact driver & you will find out! of course metal corrodes that's a different issue.

@@fiercefix ok Land Rover specify using a socket and bar to loosen and take off the bolt and the use of a torque wrench to tighten to the spec which from memory is 110 ft lbs or something like it. As I said I use an impact wrench for these bolts. My impact wrench has four settings on it in Newton Metres and the settings are 100, 150,200, 400 Nm, I use the 150Nm setting as this approximates the LR specified torque close enough. I said I had this Range Rover only five months but I’ve had 6 land rovers of various types first one was a full ground up restoration of a 1978 Series3 109”, my daily driver for 4 years,converted that to LPG A rebuild of a 1960 Series 2 88” SWB used for competition off roading ( trialling here in the UK) 1991 Discovery 1 3.5 V8 (converted that to Auto for my bad leg) converted that to LPG 1998 Discovery2 4.0l total engine rebuild, then converting rear air suspension to coils. That was already on LPG A 1998 Range Rover Vogue 3.9 l shortened to 86" wheelbase rear end shortened 30", front end shortened by 9" and the body was kept on the chassis, still with 4 doors bonnet ( hood to you in the states ) and tailgate still intact used for trialling competitions also on LPG And now the 4.2 Supercharged Range Rover also fitted with sophisticated LPG system. Plus 25 years as a mobile mechanic here in the uk. Is that a good enough pedigree for you??

@@samrodian919 you are showing your lack of skill & knowledge here! It's not the torque value that's doing the damage to the nut/Bolt it's the hammering action of the impact driver that distorts the caps. Although excessive torque will also cause issues as will corrosion on most fastners. Anyway well done you on your enjoyment of land rovers. Case closed stay safe .

Is there some other procedure on some models before jacking up? Pulled a rear wheel on a 2013 RR Sport and later notice the rear suspension had collapsed down. Yikes. Before it was perfect. I'm suspecting I did something. : ( Car is new to me. Rovers new to me.

The technique of adjusting hole position on a jack may not work sufficiently if the the rear wheel was a flat.

275/55 and 255/55 is not the same height. One is 6 inches of side wall, other is 5.5. One is 32 inches tyre, the other is 31.

@@nayibbukelevatochingon2438 no it’s not. The height is governed by the aspect ratio as a percentage of the width of the tyre. 55% of 275 is different from 55% of 255 therefore the height of the wall WILL be greater on the 275 width tyre
