I played this to my Dad as he was dying in hospital on 22nd July 2020 in Indonesia. He went to every Rangers home games between 1963-1981. RIP Alistair Hughes of Renfrew.

Ya know, as an irish catholic, I've always been fascinated with Rangers. I'm not a big Celtic man, although I love to see them win. More into the GAA and Liverpool FC. But I would love to go to Ibrox 1 day. The music, celebration and occasion that is on display on Old Firm day is just amazing. Celtic fans should never enjoy the financial hurt Rangers went through, because deep down, both need each other. If 1 died, the other might live, but sorta soulless at the same time. Celtic should have done the honourable thing and offered financial assistance (whether it was accepted or not) to ensure these 2 amazing rivals play this fixture eternally. Clowns for not realising that. Both Ibrox and Celtic park create this atmosphere that seems far far better than the best night out, when all your favourite music is played and your with your best mates. English derbies are great but the music and carnival atmosphere is MILES off Glasgow.

Agreed I’ve always said as a gers fan if the same thing happened to Celtic that happened to rangers it would destroy Scottish football. Both teams need each other as Celtics quality plummeted with Rangers out of the league. But both teams seem to be a lot better now and actually going somewhere in Europe. Not only that both teams miss the revenue from playing each other and the atmosphere from there matches there’s nothing like it anywhere else.

It is actually sad that the allocation for the away side isn´t very big anymore on Old Firm matchdays. I think a derby-atmosphere lives from the battle between the two sets of fans, not only from the home fans. I mean look at the allocation Celtic got for this particular game and compare it to today
